So Oryx can only find 5% of the donated heavy equipment given to Ukraine in non recoverable or recoverable losses, and the Welt newspaper is running with the idea that they're still holding off on using it until next summer which in some circles it is believed to apparently Zaluzhnyi’s plan all along.

I don't know if it's cope, if it's down to Ukraine not actually having received the promised military aid or if it's a mixture of truth and clinging on to as many straws as you can.

Here's what Euromaidan writes about it

Why would they hold all this military equipment until next summer, surely they would have attacked this summer and made some gains if they had all that excess equipment?

Because next summer they are expected to have the promised modern NATO (relatively) jets as air support, which they currently lack

I think the word was that the tanks aren't useful on their own without adequate air support. When they tried to use them in the summer they ran into issues with mines etc. no point getting all that equipment lost this winter. This war isn't going anywhere.

Somewhat concerning that the news that Ukraine is running out of ammunition (thanks to Hungary and the Republician party via Russia)  to defend themselves is about the 4 ot 5th headline today in most news outlets. Putin tactic of grinding on and hoping the west will get bored to the next shiny thing could well work. Plus a bit of bribery here and there.

Seeing Russia's ambassador to the UN call for Israel to stop its war is a bit like Hitler asking Franco to stop his war. The UN is a joke.

Russia attacked Ukraine totally unprovoked, yet this waste of oxygen can't even see how hypocritical of Russia it is to ask others to stop invading and bombing folks.

Ukraine has shot down four Russian Su-34 bombers and a Su-30 in the last few days. That’s a pretty big deal.

The talk is a new Patriot air defence system has been donated from Germany and deployed in the south, making the air space unusable for Russia.

For their part Russian sources are claiming the new Dutch F-16s are operating and are responsible.

They didn’t think about that too much did they. “Our super Duper new modern best in the world aircraft got shot down by some old shit NATO we’re giving away because they didn’t need it”

Yeah, it doesn’t say much for their air force 😅

Australia has begun operating a ‘wedgetail’ long range surveillance aircraft in the area recently which may have also given the Patriot systems more advanced targeting capability.

Navalny no longer dead according to his supporters

He would probably be better off dead at this stage. All that poison he's ingested can't have left him in a pleasant state.

It’s win-win if Russia thinks it is f-16s, Ukraine are due many more if the few Dutch ones delivered have caused all this damage and chaos.

Personally I think it’s the patriot batteries from Norway/Germany with other radar systems, but who knows.

Ukraine are in a very new situation with the fact that they can turn off long range radar systems so Russian jets get close, then switch to Iris/samp-T/NASAMS systems for shorter tracking and then activate Patriot when they notice enough targets within range on the other systems.

Patriot has a range of 150kms, Russia drops glide bombs at about 50kms, it’s a good tactic to hollow out Russia’s airforce even more.

After the bombing of that ship I'd have spent the next week in a basement if I was in Ukraine. Russia always launches a big retaliation after a high profile loss like that.
