I thought the way forward was Hogan up front and Kodjia playing on the left. But, Kodjia has had a few very good games up front on his own so perhaps that's the way forward? Our ability to not put the ball in the back of the net is at times verging on the ridiculous. Bruce was right, this was a potential banana skin. On another day we have another two shots cleared off the line, hit the post and everyone piles in to the performance, which was professional enough. However, we kept probing, they didn't panic and from my perspective the result was never in doubt. We're still not there, there are still some lapses in communication BUT the signs are good. In hindsight I was probably too critical in the match thread during the game. What were you critical of? There was very little to criticise to be honest. We're still a work in progress but they seem to be growing. I guess we did sit back a bit at 1-0, which was frustrating. However it feels like the nervousness is starting to dissipate. Winning can only help that. I was critical that we weren't winning during the second half. I felt these are the types of games where Bruce should be proving he's the best man for the job long term. Like I said, after watching the highlights I clearly let my frustration get the better of me. We should have, but it's hard to blame the manager for those misses, saves and clearances. There's little he can do on the day. We do make it hard for ourselves though I agree. Yes it does. Playing pretty football but not getting results could put you into a dire situation. Playing ugly but getting results could get you promoted or even win the league.
