It would be good to even have the debate whether the benefits outweighed the drawbacks, but there’s no **** actual benefits at all. Even the stuff they said they could do post Brexit (like cut VAT on home energy, how great would that be about now!) they didn’t bother doing.

Genie
Just now, bickster said: So he's going to the supreme court to state the obvious? yep, after previously saying the opposite of what he’s going to say in court. Wouldn’t it be easier for him, and all the others, to put their hands up and say “we were spectacularly wrong”? A sorry would also go a long way too. Genie
The Guardian Quote EU leaders and Joe Biden will meet next week to discuss war in Ukraine, but PM has not yet been invited Boris Johnson is understood to be open to accepting an invitation to attend the European Council next week when EU leaders meet to discuss the war in Ukraine, though one has yet to be extended. Most places offer a short term membership rather than committing long term, maybe Boris could get 24 hour or trial membership card for the EU? Joking aside it’s pretty pathetic isn’t it, hoping for some crumbs from the big boy table. Edited March 18, 2022 by Genie
Genie
How many times do you reckon the BBC mention the B word in this story? Quote A council says it is prepared to declare "a major incident" if traffic disruption around Dover continues into this weekend. Traffic chaos has left some travellers queuing for hours since the start of the Easter break at the weekend. In an open letter Dover District Council (DDC) leader Trevor Bartlett said the town would "not tolerate another weekend of gridlock". Freight traffic continues to queue on the M20 and A20 in Kent.. —————— A 23-mile (37km) stretch of the M20 remains closed to accommodate queuing freight between junction eight (Maidstone) and eleven (Westernhanger/Hythe). Authorities have implemented Operation Brock, a system which allows lorries heading to Dover to use one side of the M20, while all other traffic is restricted to a contraflow system on the opposite side. But East Kent Highways say the system is holding 4,500 lorries, when it "normally has capacity for around 2,000". If you guessed zero then you win. Luckily they enabled commenting in which every single person shows why this problem exists.

The systems introduced to manage goods going in and out of the country post Brexit are, unsurprisingly, shit.
