VillaChris
Kozak, Agbonlahor, Ayew is a wafer thing and poor attacking line-up. Waiting for a marquee striker signing. Is someone who played for Real Madrid and Man. City in recent memory going to be good enough for you?
VillaChris
If Adebayor does sign I certainly wouldn't say we're short of options, even if we're playing 2 up front. Adebayor, Ayew, Agbonlahor, Kozak, Robinson. You also have to factor in Gil, Grealish and Sinclair into that equation. If it's two up front Gil, Grealish or Sinclair could play there if we had a real crisis. I still think it will be one up front through the middle (Adebayor) with support strikers either side of him, which for me would be Ayew and Gil. It will be Grealish ahead of Gil but yes we have options which is good. Say we play 4-4-2 some games then I fully expect Sinclair to come in and probably Gabby aswell, maybe even Kozak. 4-2-3-1 Then Gil should be playing in 10 position. Let's hope they can all chip in with goals as we overall need more from the first 11 to replace all those lost from Benteke.
HeyAnty
Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick, a club insider from Derby County has informed Football League World. image: http://cdn.footballleagueworld.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/hendrick4-300x200.jpg Villa are keeping tabs on the situation of Hendrick Villa are keeping tabs on the situation of Hendrick Villa boss Tim Sherwood is understood to be a fan of the midfielder and has been tracking the Irishman since becoming manager of the Premier League side earlier this year. Hendrick, who scored nine goals in 47 appearances last season, has also been a target for Scottish champions Celtic, but with three years left on his current deal at the iPro Stadium, it would take a sizeable fee for even Derby to consider selling one of their best players. Sherwood is undergoing an overhaul of his squad this summer and has money to spend due to the sales of Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph. With Delph leaving for Manchester City, Villa have a gap in their midfield and Hendrick could be an ideal replacement. Rams boss Paul Clement is looking to keep his star players at the club as he looks to mount a promotion push this coming season and they have spent big this summer with the signings of Tom Ince and Andreas Weimann amongst others. Hendrick, a Republic of Ireland international, has made 162 appearances for Derby, scoring 20 goals. http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/aston-villa-keeping-tabs-on-situation-of-derby-county-midfielder/?#oJP4WOcHHka55hY6.

I hear he's still got 3 years on his contract at the Birmingham Mail, so Hughes may be easier to prise away...

sonic_bouma
If we don't sign at least 1 decent CB before the end of the window we are going to ship goals left right and centre. Expecting to compete with a four of Okore richards Clark and Senderos would be suicide. Add to that our lack of a goal scorer then Sherwood has two signings to make in order to stop us going down. That may sound dramatic but we are woefully short of quality at both ends of the field. A reliable experienced CB and a proven goal getter. Praying for some news on these two fronts in the next month.
