Ironsid
I'd like to see some width in attack. Kozak isn't going run onto too many through balls; he isn't quick enough. He needs good crosses to give him chances. It would increase Benteke's opportunities as well when he comes back. A genuinely creative midfielder who can score the odd goal wouldn't hurt either. AntrimBlack
I know I am only repeating what many are saying, but I think a creative midfielder is top of the list.
botak
The easiest way to describe what we need is 3 players who can fulfil the roles Ashley Young, Gareth Barry and James Milner played. Those are the skill sets we are missing. We won't get 3 as good probably, but we need people who resemble them as players. Could have got Barry on loan too. We have them - Albrighton is a homeless man's Young, Westwood is a homeless man's Barry and Delph is a homeless man's Milner. It's exactly the quality that we need but don't currently have. Still, our start is not bad at all - 1/4th of the points at 1/5.5th of the way.

abdulaziz1
We could do also with a tricky winger who could put some assists ! Coutinhou isn't playing in the middle actually .. is he ?
AshVilla
If were going to continue to play this narrow we need a player in the middle of the park who is composed has a good range of passing can dictate the play and does not give the ball away so easy when under pressure I don't think we will find a player like that for peanuts though
tinker Posted October 13, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted October 13, 2013 Ivelin Popov fits the bill, he will have a year left on his contract next summer so pressure is on for his team to sell this winter. He's been a captain at most of his clubs and Petrov could have a word to get him here.
ROTTERDAM1982
Hernandez from Ure? A good no 10, and at least one attacking inside forward to put pressure on Gabby/Weimann. The Ukranian guy might be worth a go if we can afford him, looked very good against England

Avflife
Wouldn't mind someone in midfield like De Bruyne, Hughes or Ince etc., but can only realistically see the later being a possible signing in January. Away from home when he play 4-3-3 with Weimann, Gabby and Benteke all fit we are majority unstoppable, but without two or even one of them one we would limp as 'fill with word' lol. Its at home where I'm still unsure what formation suits us best, 3-5-2 only worked against City as they didn't have Aguero or Silva, so I still think it should be either 4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2, 4-2-2-2 with the following, Guzan, Bacuna, Vlaar, Clark, Luna, Westwood, Sylla, Delph, (New ACM) Benteke and Gabby. Dodgyknees
1) a few goals from defenders. 2) goals and assists from midfield. 3) more goals from strikers other than Benteke + the addition of a decent forward thinking midfield player. This is where I want improvement.

Not that he'd ever come here in a million years. I assume the Ukranian guy you're referring to is Konoplyanca? I've liked him for a while, but apparently Dnipro want £15m. R.I.C.O.
We need someone in midfield who can create something out of nothing. None of our midfielders will chip in with many goals this season, and we can't just rely on counter attacking football, as its too predictable (and we can't do it well at home).
