The only other I can think of is against United, Westwood played the wonderful crossfield pass right onto the head of Gestede to knock down...unfortunately, his strike partner (ahem, Gabby) has zero awareness, so it came to nothing. Hopefully the team can find ways to get him better involved and also use him to hold the ball up and then take advantage of runs made by players like Adama, Gil, and Grealish.

I think Veretout and Ayew are both in the same type of situation. Both players clearly have a large amount of raw talent and some of the skills necessary which can make them great players for Villa. It will take time but once they get acclimated to the pace of the league, gain fitness, and overall experience, they will most definitely improve. I also think that once we have more attack minded players coming into the lineup (Gil, Grealish, Traore) and maybe one more experienced striker, it will take alot of pressure off these guys. Patience is definitely nnecessary though, which luckily I believe many supporter are willing to give for now.

Can't be too disappointed...though I do think it should have definitely been a draw, neither side deserved to win that. It will take time, but as these players get more experience with each other, the performances will certainly improve. There is also a clear disconnect between midfield and forwards at the moment, but I think once Gestede is fully fit as well as Grealish/Gil/Traore, the team will have a lot more attacking intent about it.

I agree about needing 2 strikers in...preferably one with a bit of experience and then a youngster from Europe with a high ceiling in terms of potential. That's why I'm not totally opposed to the idea of Adebayor if it is either A.) A Loan with subsidized wages or B.) A One/Two Year Deal with his lower wages and more performance related clauses. Then for the youngster, someone like an Embolo.
