  1. Love the triangle superhero takeoff style of Benteke, Weimann and KEA. Only thing missing is the takeoff.

    FIFA 14

Started playing FIFA again after a long break. Been playing some Ultimate team seasons. Worked my way up to league 5. Still going up, wonder where I'll end up. Managed to save up 17 000 gold coins so far. And here you guys are talking about buying cards for 200 000 for fun. How on earth?
  3. Mulumbu is exactly the type of player we're missing in midfield. Don't think we're ever going to be in for him though.
  4. The 56 uprising was another shameful day in NATO history when they betrayed the Hungarians .. The Russians had gone and then turned around and came back when the NATO betrayed Hungary Fixed. With apologies to Kipling: "It's US this and US that and 'kick him out the brute' but it's star clad bunch of 'eroes when the guns begin to shoot." 70 years since the end of the war and still Europe cowers behind American skirts - while bitching about them to each other and slashing our military forces. Europe = hypocritical weaklings. The Americans don't always get it right but at least they can be relied upon to turn up. They turn up when it serves their own agenda. Just as any other country. They can't be relied to turn up unless it's in their intrest. There's no fight against oppression, for democray or freedom. It's simply countries doing what they believe are the best for themselves. Not saying that any country is worse then another in this. But "atleast they can be relied upon to turn up" is a very incorrect statement imo.

    Gym Routine

Seeing that my cheap gym just closed down and I don't have money to sign a memebership at an expensive one I'm gonna do Calisthenics at on outdoor gym until some money comes around. Going to be intresting!
  6. If true detective keeps this high standar thru the whole season It's going to be the best show I've ever seen.
  7. Thougth he worked very well as sub to grind out a win the last few mintues of a game. Didn't get to watch the game too closely, but very surprised that he started. Weird call from Lambert I think.
  8. First proper left back since Bouma. It's been a while..
  9. Now I remember why I was such a big fan. Welcome back Andy.
  10. Told you all he'd come good. I win!
  11. Using him wrong as in holding up the ball, slowing play down so we don't get countered against? Or winning free kicks and throw-ins to interrupt any play they have going, and waste time? Or closing down and putting pressure on the opposition, aiding our very tired midfield? Or helping the rest of our young players keep their cool, who in the past have a tendency to panic and give away the ball when we're in the lead and it's close to full time? Good sub, did exactly what was needed. Helped us grind out the win.
  12. VillaTalk got cancer. Spreading to one thread at the time, mutating them.

    Coffee or Tea

Coffe, and I grind my own damned Blue Java beans. Manually. Green Tea with ginger and cinnamon and a spoon of heather honey if I got a cold though.
  14. Corners can **** off
  15. Gamble on Erickson seems to have payed off this round, hopefully he'll cement his place in the team now Toure usually plays all the games. Navas has been playing most of them recently but soon enough he might be out of the team, so I migth loose some points there.
  16. Just have a hunch that Eriksen and Adebayor will make quite a few points in the coming week(you guys might want to stay clear of them). I didn't pay to much attention to my team for about two months, and I've done a idiotic amount of team rewamps without having a wildcard to play. Taken about -50 points -.-. I've been far far far behind in pretty much every league I've participated in, and I'm not that good in this to begin with. Only started being more "serious" in december. Managed to climb 20 places on the VT league since i got back(thx suarez and hazard) still only 74 My only goal is to win a gameweek or cause a major upset and win the cup!
  17. A lot of injured players, so pretty much built a new team. What you guys think? Any particular bad choices? ------------Mignolet------------------ ---------------------------------------- Sagna - Metersacker - Coleman ----------------------------------------- Navas - Toure - Eriksen - Hazard ----------------------------------------- Suarez© - Rodriguez-Adebayor Subs: Bannan, Chambers and Par.
  18. Exciting player, would be a intresting signing.
  19. I think it just quite clearly wasn't to make the squad better - that was always going to be an "if possible" situation. How can you see this as a ridiculous statement? I'm not defending Lambert's record with us; the results on paper have been poor in the whole. However, I expected them to be poor as we're in such a transitional stage. The worrying thing is that our good results have come against teams that we're unlikely to repeat them against... although perhaps the same could be said for those teams we've lost against? I'm honestly not concerned with the tedium of how many games we've won or lost or drawn or should've won or whatever. The main thing this season is for Aston Villa to survive in the Premier League. I don't really care if this is via the scrappiest of most scrappy last games of the season where we scrape a 1-1 draw against Spurs and survive. I've always maintained (and will likely continue to do so) that goal difference is the greatest indicator of how poor a team truly is. Last season, we had the 5th worst goal difference and just about survived whilst the 3 teams that went down had the worst 3 goal differences in the league. This season, we've seen a marked improvement in our defensive performances and are currently sat on a -6 goal difference. I'm firmly of the belief that if Benteke and Vlaar weren't injured for periods, we'd not be posting in a "Lambert should be sacked thread". Lambert's fault for a lack of squad depth? Maybe so, but see my previous posts r.e: budget and realistic goals. There are obvious weaknesses in the team but, season on season, I think we're addressing these points. 2 seasons ago, our main problem was scoring goals so we signed Benteke and scored goals. Last season, our main problem was atrocious defending, so we signed a defender (Okore, unlucky) and have obviously been working on tightening things up. This season, our main problem has been ball retention and a lack of creativity. I think we know where Lambert will be looking next in the market... If you can't see/don't want to acknowledge these small (and they are small!) steps in the right direction and, instead, wish to bemoan the team for unattractive football and a run of poor results then fair enough - that's your prerogative. For me, I'd rather not boo the team and will continue to assess the work being done at the club on a wider scale. It's my opinion that Lambert recognises where we are weakest (then again, it's not hard), knows what we need to do to improve (again, not hard) and will continue to address these issues as he did last season and going into this one. As per my initial post, I'll personally be judging his time at the end of next season. Right now we're in the teething stage; after 3 seasons in charge, there should be a notable improvement. Best post I've read in while.
