My birthday today, last time we played on it was beating Millwall in the 10 match winning run. Will be a tough match given our shocking recent history visiting them but hoping Don Unai can change that! Ollie to bag again.

Brilliant day at VP yesterday. Watkins unplayable and bouncing round the pitch so confident. Moreno is absolutely class, what a great signing! McGinn, Luiz and Ramsey all on top form with Dendoncker putting in the unseen dirty work to help them tick. Mings and Konsa are playing their best football for us. Ashley Young completing his 4th game in 2 weeks with no drop in his levels. Martinez made the necessary saves with little fuss and his distribution (particularly to the full backs) has come on leaps and bounds since Emery came in. Also loved Duran coming on and crunching someone for a late booking. No idea how Burn didn’t get about 5 yellow cards, ref let them get away with loads. They looked rattled from the Watkins chance on 28 seconds and we were relentless in battering them. Unai gets a 10/10. Great atmosphere too!

John McGinn MOTM, what a turnaround in form from him of late, well done John - back to the player we loved in the championship! Thought Moreno was great, Emi and the rest of the defence too. Luiz reeks class as always and Ramsey had his best game under Emery so far. Another top performance by Watkins, good stat that only Salah, Kane and Son have scored more PL goals than him since he joined Villa. Loving what Unai is doing and gutted I can’t make the Forest game next weekend!

The club should definitely do cheap tickets for the semi final vs Chelsea and try and fill as much of VP as possible. £10/£5 adult/child could do the Holte, lower/mid trinity and lower north?

Finally got round to watching Succession. Finished S1 last night, so good!

Probably worth mentioning that the last train out to Aston is at 12:36 and there’s one train back to New Street from Witton at 16:59 and nothing else due to the strikes.
