  1. downing is due a good game, and he might be more fired up against NE opponents. carew and dunne to score in a two one win.
  2. because we have all seen us fluff up these kind of games in the past!
  3. 4th for me, because I think as long as we beat chelsea, reaching that 4th spot in the league would give the team so much added confidence that we would piss all over spurs or whoever in the FA cup final. i was thinking about the CL last night when i was watching barca, and thinking how good would it be to see villa in the group phase?! i think we would have no problem getting through the qualifiers. so yeah i would like both obviously but i think if we get 4th we will go on to win the FA cup anyway so this is a moot point.
  4. should be a win but i'm not so confident. reckon we could sneak it 2-1 though with a goal for downing in there somewhere.
  5. we must have 4th place as our priority, we really need to (in order to quash any milner leaving rumours for one!). however, seeing as there is only one potential extra game to add to our fixture list and that would be after the league season anyway i really don't see why we shouldn't take the FA cup too. what a season that would be, 4th and two finals. and then spank manure in the charity shield to get next year off to a good start.
  6. just got back, great atmosphere in the away end tonight. the same can't be said for the wigan fans, they were shocking! milner had a great second half tonight, that run down to the corner flag in the 89th minute was unreal. thought the defence had a good night, i voted for warnock MOTM but i'm not sure why now i have done so. collins was great again, just like saturday. carew was also very very good tonight, help up play really well and looked threatening. steve bennett was atrocious, we were lucky that none of his shocking decisions cost us. all in all an enjoyable night out and such a crucial 3 points in the bag.
  7. so nervous about this, lets hope we can have a repeat of last seasons corresponding fixture though!
  8. yes, spurs and city still have to play each other. liverpool has manure and chelsea left, but i reckon they are more likely to drop points against teams like fulham and sha. city have arsenal, manure and us in a row. spurs have arsenal, chelsea and spurs in a row. i would say it is probably still in our hands, but winning on tuesday is now even more essential.
  9. i only saw the second half but collins MOTM for me. him and richard were great today. disappointing performance from the attacking players but stoke is a very difficult place to go to and they put us under quite a lot of pressure so i would have to say it is a good point. makes winning on tuesday even more essential though.
  10. haha theres been some funny psots in this thread. erm, last night for me.
  11. you can go moor street to marylebone on a £10 single each way or £32 return at the moment on thetrainline.com so its worth looking at that. or if you have somewhere to stay in london you can get a £5 single fare home on the sunday morning if you book it in advance now, it is at 09.15 though. in fact on the morning of the game there is a £5 single from moor street but it is at 06.39!
  12. i think cuellar at RB is a no-brainer for this one, need as many strong in the air players as we can pack in against stoke.
  13. it's going to be a horribly tense 90 minutes but for some reason i'm feeling quite optimistic. the fact that they have a game tomorrow night really plays into our hands i think. as long as we can get through the first 60 minutes without conceding and preferably nicking a goal then i think we will be ok. stoke are a good side though.
  14. i'm getting the train, but from leeds. just got to make sure i can find the ground from the station!
  15. i didn't explain myself very well, i meant to become a team who consistently wins trophies.
  16. i went for lifting a trophy and finishing top7. top4 is the obvious aim but i think this season it is going to be so close that there will be less than two wins between 4th and 7th. we should be winning trophies consistently though, so hopefully we can kick on from sunday in the next few years.
