Great that we created plenty of chances but we really needed to stick some of them away, no matter how well Kepa (MOTM) was playing. As Kepa wasn’t an option, I voted Young as MOTM. Shame to see such apathy in the stands. Surely it’s obvious to the powers that be that this isn’t working? Change the manager now and try and build a little momentum going into the break.

Re. Watkins I was interested to hear on the Villa Talks podcast that the xG from his chances this season is 2 (0.8 of that was in the Leeds game). So yes he is underperforming and using your eyes it looks like he’s not doing well (!) but statistically we aren’t providing him with amazing chances.

Two episodes into This England (drama on sky set in 2020 detailing Johnson and tory response to Covid. Enjoying it so far even if it is infuriating all over again watching them **** up the response.

I thought it actually had the desired effect of winding up their fans and therefore their players to the extent that one got himself sent off. Unfortunately we didn’t capitalise on it.

Didn’t feel like a win walking out of VP tonight. Felt much more positive after the City draw last time out. Obviously happy with the 3 points and clean sheet but that was a dire match. Hard to explain really as we were in complete control for the whole game but it didn’t inspire any confidence whatsoever in the current regime. I love John McGinn as next as the next villa fan but it is bordering on cruel to keep this up. He is woefully out of form and despite a couple of decent late challenges (one of which he was inexplicably booked for) he is a blatant weak link. What does Dougie need to do to get in ahead of him? Ollie did well in a thankless task and I voted Phil MOTM although it could’ve gone to Mings. We have a very good squad of players that are being made to look ordinary by a manager that needs to go. Final word for the ref who I thought was atrocious. Best league in the world? Need to improve the officials please.
