  1. Bit harsh mate. Gestede is pony but has proven he can score shedloads in the Championship. But I think Kozack will be very good in that league. Kozack & Ayew up top next year wouldn't be too bad.
  2. Lol, pulled out of training because of a virus apparently
  3. Daily Star (ahem), nonetheless I feel this is pertinent: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/504709/Remi-Garde-Aston-Villa-boss-Jack-Grealish I really, really despair at the attitude of our squad. Poor Garde, he never stood a chance. What are our youth coaches doing?! What are the other non-playing staff doing?! Letting this embarrassing lack of professionalism spread throughout the junior and senior ranks, seemingly. A young guy can think he can just go out on the piss after a 4-0 loss, with no repercussions, and the senior players agree with his indignation. We need a strict disciplinarian to come in and gut the place.
  4. I feel like this season has kind of tested that theory somewhat. Obviously it's how you spend the money that matters but clearly if you have a unified, motivated and organised squad - regardless of how much it cost to assemble - you can achieve anything.
  5. Hey chaps, I've gotten back into RL in a big way last week or so, if there are any VT games or anyone fancies linking up, hit me up jamie_cal / or if you fancy reposting usernames? I promise not to: hit it backwards ram into you block your shots steal your goals and all the other annoying sh*t that everyone seems to do on this game.
  6. Just looking at our remaining fixtures: Liverpool (Home) Stoke (Away) Everton (Home) Man City (Away) Spurs (Home) Swansea (Away) Chelsea (Home) Bournemouth (Home) Man Utd (Away) Southampton (Home) Watford (Away) Newcastle (Home) Arsenal (Away) Games in bold - I think we can expect to get a result from, but I just can't see us making up 8 points on the rest of the pack.
  7. A - that was Phil McNulty, a notorious bellend B - they're actually quite large Completely OT - would you rather the UK media landscape was more like that of the USA? Or Russia perhaps? The BBC are under serious threat from the Tories and as the old adage goes, you don't know what you got til it's gone. Which is incidentally how I feel about Lerner.... spoof.
  8. What a sad time to be a Villa fan. A few predicted it, but now it's clear: Randy has turned us into the Cleveland Browns.
  9. did he really say we were the 3rd highest spender over 10 years? that is surely just a bare faced lie.
  10. Comparing Sinclair and N'Zogbia is like choosing what's your preferred stool sample.
  11. You think? Someone who's played well over 100 Premier League games, by age 23? I think anyone from La Liga or the Bundesliga is costing you the same.
  12. Whether or not you think we should be currently preparing for life in the Championship, or think we can still survive, the fact we have yet to get any business over the line is an absolute embarrassment. There's talk of us releasing Gabby, Sinclair back to Swansea etc... obviously speculation at this stage but I wouldn't be surprised if we end Jan with a weaker squad than at the start of the window. Sigh.
  13. Has Richards actually started a game at RB for us yet? My memory fails me.
  14. AKA; is hideously under qualified for the job and is baffled why he was contacted about it. Joking (sort of) as I have no idea what amounts to good experience when running a football club these days. But given our track record of recruitment in non-playing (and playing, obv) staff under Lerner, one has to assume Hollis will ultimately preside over the dissolution of the club. Also can't help but feel the whole 'he knows Birmingham inside out' spiel in Lerner's statement is a load of bollocks. It doesn't really matter if he knows the city, does it? Probably just a cover as to why we didn't get someone who's been exposed to larger and more significant businesses from London KPMG etc
  15. I feel so sorry for Remi. Has been completely hung out to dry by the board and the senior players. Get rid of the lot, and back him to rebuild us over the next few years.
  16. Happy days http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-pair-brad-guzan-7153637 Aston Villa fans have complained to the club after claiming Brad Guzan and Joleon Lescott both told them to “f*** off.” The row in the second half of the Premier League basement side's 1-1 FA Cup draw at League Two Wycombe prompted skipper Micah Richards to intervene. Richards pleaded with fuming fans behind the dug-out after they criticised subs Guzan and Lescott on the bench for their attitude. The pair, who earn around £40,000-a-week, upset them by have a spitting competition to see who could propel chewing gum closest to the touchline.
