  1. He may turn out to be a dud. Gave the ball away with alarming regularity.
  2. That would apply to October the 7th even more so.
  3. Taking my two grandkids to their first games tonight, one’s mad keen for it, the others so, so. Have to keep working on her.
  4. I remember it well. It’s how my Grandad felt when Hitler topped himself.
  5. So are you in favour of relocating Villa Park to a more accessible site then. Because those cars aren’t going away.
  6. Nothing in any infrastructure work will reduce the amount of cars in society.
  7. Well I’m 68, love Villa Park, but honestly, if it means we get a great new Villa Park, I’d have no problem. The only thing historic about our stadium now, is the site. Old Villa Park disappeared many years ago. Can’t imagine any fans of the clubs now enjoying state of the art facilities in their new stadiums would switch back to what they had before.
  8. Wasn’t a problem pre all seater stadiums. As I’ve said before, I attended many games at VP North of 50,000 attendances, a couple in excess of 60,000. FA Cup semi finals were also way above what we get now. This infrastructure thing is overblown. Yes it would need improving, but it isn’t something that a few extra trains and buses couldn’t cope with.
  9. Most of the mega bucks from the Champions League comes from sources other than the gate receipts. You could close the ground completely and still rake in millions.
  10. Depends how much money you want to throw at it. Everything has its price.
  11. Actually, the only thing historic about Villa Park now, is the site. There isn’t a stand older than the 1970s. I’ve been going since the 1960s and there’s nothing of the old Villa Park left. If we ever did move into a mega stadium, near the centre of the city, I’d be all for it. It’s important to value a clubs history, just don’t frustrate the potential of the club with it.
  12. Before the advent of all seater stadiums, Villa Park frequently had attendances North of 50,000. I personally was in a crowd of 62,000. It really isn’t a deal breaker.
  13. He may well be. Just have to show the same patience with Diaby that we have with Leon.
  14. We attack at a stroll. Need to attack with pace, move the ball quicker from the back.
  15. We are shit in front of goal. If we’d taken our chances, that poxy goal wouldn’t matter.
  16. A big part of getting top players , even average ones to sign, is taking them on a tour of a clubs facilities. Bodymoor Heath always elicits positive vibes from our signings. Imagine taking a player around that sorry excuse for a training ground. I can hear it now “ I can see where you store the garden furniture and lawnmower, but where am I supposed to change and relax ?”
  17. Monbiot was bang on the money. It’s all a smokescreen to take peoples attention away from the shit show this country has become with these clowns in charge.
  18. Looks like a big garden shed with a dartboard in it. Tin pot facilities.
  19. Saw that inbred in Tescos many years ago, just after that photo was taken. My missus just turned to me and said “don’t”.
  20. Not even the Rwanda bank account. How much of this money will end up in Rwandan politicians accounts.
  21. Globally the broadcast revenue for PL games is included in the money negotiated with Sky. If clubs negotiate their revenue individually through ppv. The gap in revenue between Liverpool and Man Utd and the rest, would be huge. They have, potentially millions of subscribers in South East Asia alone. Possibly hundreds of millions. At the moment clubs cannot negotiate their own deals in isolation. Long May it remain so.
  22. That’s exactly what the so called big six want. Because they will ultimately run their own pay per view and absolutely rake it in. The gap in finance between them and the rest would be immense. So no thanks.
