  1. Quote from Eric Pickles " I was a Number Two".... You sure are Eric, you sure are .
  2. Agreed. Pompous is his middle name. A wanabee Tory Bigwig, and is willing to grovel to his "betters" to get there. Lickspittle politician of the worst kind.
  3. So in one region your particular treatment or drugs will be given priority and in another area they will not. A post code lottery for treatment. Exactly what we need to avoid. Treatment should be universally available regardless of where you live. The true reason for fragmenting the service is to make it easier to privatize the NHS by stealth. The Tories opposed the birth of the NHS venemously, they will see its slow dismantling as a long term objective.
  4. How much did the Daily Mail pay you to post that.
  5. Really. Should have gone to Specsavers
  6. Really? I think O'Neills teams play a type of football that would be somewhat limited on the international stage. Watching Villa play can at the best of times be fairly predictable. He has always played a big fella up front with a quick winger to put over crosses. His teams have never played a passing game . His style has been described in some quarters as kick and rush. I don't think he deserves quite such a rigid description, but I certainly think his style of football would be found out by tthe best teams . Personally, I think someone like Moyes could do a good job. He's always got Everton, a team with limited playing resources, to perform to their maximum potential. He is a Jock though :winkold:
  7. and yet widened the poverty gap even further i hope you are a young man I'm old enough to have lived through the horrors of Thatcherism and the suffering it inflicted on our people . What did the Tories ever do for the unemployed or young?Incidentally if crime statistics were collated using the old system of statistical analysis it has dropped, crime, including violent crime has fallen by 41% according to the British crime survey.Since 2002 the police no longer classify a crime as violent, it is now left to the victim to decide. Many more incidents formerly classed as misdemeanours are now classed as violence.True the poverty gap has widened, but that reflects more on Labours failure to redistribute wealth from the rich to the less well off. Incomes have risen at all levels of society though. Do you think the Tories will take from the rich...no neither do I.If you really believe public services have not improved in the last 13 years then just wait for the dismantling of those said services by Cameron and the idiot Osborne.A bunch of greedy bankers almost brought the world economy to the edge of collapse. I for one will not allow a bunch of Labour haters to try and denigrate the great things done for this country by Labour in the last 13 years without instilling some balance.
  8. Hmmm, years of harm. Introduction of minimum wage, ending of long waiting times for health care, up to 2 years under Tories, restoring link to average earnings for old age pensions, schools adequately funded, tax credits introduced to help low paid, winter fuel payments for elderly, free bus passes nationaly for pensioners, doubled the number of child care places, 234,000 appreticeships in 2008/9,as opposed to 75,000 under last Tory Govt.in 1997.banned fox hunting, smoking ban in public places,42,000 more teachers than in 1997,3,700 new or significantly improved schools, rough sleeping has dropped by two thirds, and homelesness is at its lowest level since the 1980's,introduction of the "right to roam" opening up thousands of acres to the British people,20 billion spent bringing social housing up to decent standards, 3 million child trust funds, paternity leave for fathers,a free nursery place for every 3/4 year old, free TV licences for over 75's,...I could go on. We had 13 years of a Government that for all its faults, and no Government is perfect, genuinly tried to bring some fairness, decency and compassion into our country after the dreadful carnage imposed on us by the Tories. I look forward to the next Labour Government.Just hope the current incumbent in Downing st doesn't do too much damage before he's rumbled and dumped.
  9. Rubbish, utter rubbish. I'm not surprised tho, it's the Tory way of creating an unequal Society where only the born wealthy can prosper without worries, and talented individuals from poor backgrounds get deterred by the debt.and how does that tie up with Liebour saddling us all with over a trillion of debt. A debt that we will all have to pay back. Has that created an unequal society do you think? Nothing to do with toxic American loans being traded by greedy bankers then. Dear me Labour caused a worldwide recession all on their own. Your anti Labour agenda shines through yet again.
  10. Our problems pale into insignificance compared to Greece. To say otherwise is simply not true. Indeed Spain and Hungary are now being talked of as the next crisis nations. Labour handled the economy better than most, avoiding the catastrophe that the boy Osborne seems set on initiating. The Tories have but one answer to economic difficulties, its the tactic they have always resorted to, slash and burn and let unemployment rip. Brown presided over the longest sustained period of economic growth in this country in history. Our economy like so many others was undermined by a bunch of greedy bankers from the private financial sector. Brown was able to weather the storm, now the Tories are in , get ready for a hurricane.
  11. Two guys who can't hack it at Spurs...but are good enough for us. Jenas is bloody awful . Bentley hit and miss at best , no thanks to either of them.
  12. I'd like someone who can actually do the job properly. I don't give a toss about £40,000, frankly. In comparison to being more adept at safeguarding the countries economic future, he can have it. Honesty is something you discount at your peril. Claiming £40,000 of taxpayers money that your not entitled to, and then trying to claim it is because of your secret homosexuality is not the behaviour of an honourable man. Turning a blind eye to shady dealings by politicians is a quick way to a corrupt government. Its because our country expects indeed demands propriety from our public servants, that we by and large have one of the less corrupt Parliaments. Take a look at countries where making money under the counter is endemic, Russia, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia etc. do we really want to join that club. We have high expectations of our politicians, they don't always live up to that. The cosequences are they pay a penalty. long may it remain so.
  13. Couldn't keep his hands out of the till though could he. I'd prefer a slightly less talented but considerably more honest chap ...whoever that may be.
  14. A marriage made in Hell. They have no common policies at all. This will go belly up, just a question of when. Most Liberals are inherently closer in their beliefs to Labour. This will go down as Cleggs clanger.
  15. Another anonymous performance from Gabby.Cannot remember a single effort on goal from him. Against the better teams, simply being quick isn't enough. Also Petrov, well past his sell by date. We are close to being a top 4 team, just need that quality playmaker and a couple of truly dangerous forwards who can finish teams off once we have them on the backfoot.A tale of what might have been today.
  16. If we sell we get lots of money......and simply become another feeder club for Man Utd. Make a stand. Not just for ourselves , but for every other club those b##rds think they can cherry pick.
  17. Any time I see Cameron smile I think of a pile of slimy vomit.
  18. I live in Sutton Coldfield, I was born in Erdington. You must be joking about the North of the city being the same. Blues shirts are rarer than an Arab at a synagogue. I can honestly say that almost every shirt I see here is claret and Blue, with the odd Baggies shirt straying over . Chelmsley is always thought of as Nose territory, but trust me there are more than a few Villa fans there. Sorry mate think you misread my post - or perhaps I didnt make myself clear.... In the north of the city its granted that there are more Villa about but probably an equal number of gloryhunters. I see Liverpool and Manure shirts all the time in Handsworth, Winson etc. Blosers are rare but not unheard of - I see blosers in Bearwood all the time. In the south things are less clear cut, its a mix of Blose, Villa and the gloryhunters, and you only really see them everywhere in the obvious places. But there is probably no difference there either, just the knuckldraggers like to wear their shitty tops more often. As for erdington - I've seen loads of blosers walking about there! We'll have to agree to disagree. I've lived here all my life, and I just don't see em. Maybe 1 nose is running around trying to look like a crowd . 40 years ago, ONLY Villa, Blues and Baggie colours were seen in Birmingham. Sad reflection on parents that they pander to the seduction of their kids by Sky. One positive trend is that more and more of our ethnic fans are showing alleigance to their home city club.

  20. Rubbish - the economy of every country is so interlinked that this was a world wide recession. The impacts are there for all to see except those that are too blinkered to see past their particular hatred of one political party and the crave for power It was a global recession in that sense that it involved more countries than it didn't, much like a world war. However our financial centre was one of two internationally that drove the world off a cliff. I'm afraid it is you wearing the blinkers mate and this can be shown by observing a few simple points: 1)During the 1997-2007 boom years the Government consistently spent more than it took in in tax revenues, saving nothing and borrowing to fund the gap. So, when the shit hit the fan the man who bragged he'd "abolished boom and bust" had left the country woefully unprepared in terms or Treasury reserves. This can be understood once you realise he actually believed that he'd abolished the economic cycle. This is also the man some people on this thread want to continue as Prime Minister. 2)The then Chancellor and now Prime Minister put his own system of financial regulation in to supervise the banking sector and it comprehensively failed. That led to reckless behaviour by banks (egged on by No. 11 for ever greater tax receipts) and resulted in the 'global' financial meltdown we have suffered under since. 3)Brown did not directly cause the recession but he is certainly culpable for it's severity and the resulting debt mountain that threatens our economic recovery. Worse, it will result in the gutting of public service budgets in order to get both debt and deficit back to a credible (for the markets and money lenders) and manageable (for the taxpayer) level. Setting aside the staggering waste and (non)job creation schemes in the public sector, much good work was done between 1997-2004/5 in improving the public services. Basically all of that will be undone now because old Prudence discovered a taste for spendaholism that we, UK Plc, will have to pick up the tab for. That is not a party political point of view, it is simply an observation of the basic facts. EVERY government spends more than it receives in taxes. The Tories actually borrowed even more than Labour prior to this recession due to the immense economic destruction they caused. And that one was not worlwide. Most of the deregulation in this country was instigated by Thatcher. The global financial meltdown was primarily caused by American toxic debts being traded worldwide and subsequently being picked up by amongst others, UK banks. Do you really believe the Tories would have dared regulate their cronies in the city of London. Whatever the causes of the recession, which thankfully we now seem to be slowly coming out of. I have no doubt that the traditional Tory washing of their hands and leaving it to the market philosophy, would have resulted in a far worse state of affairs . .Incidentally in both World Wars there were more non combatant nations than those fighting. This opinion of course is based on facts not assumptions.
  21. This simply isn't true, it is a lie, plenty of countries did not enter into recession. Australia being one prime example. And Gordo's policies and decisioms, certainly contributed to the recession, as one of the THE big worldwide financial centres our influence was far and wide and as Mr Brown was the one responsible for implementing a regulatory body with a pair of false teeth that had flushed down the bog, yes we were hugely responsible, probably second behind the USA in terms of culpability The term Worldwide recession is a myth, one perpetuated by those with a vested interest USA,Uk,Germany,Japan,France, and many more were in a recession .You say Australia wasn't affected, fair enough. It would however seem all the MAJOR economies were. To most people that could legitimately be classed as worldwide. The point is the recession was not caused by Gordon Brown, only those with a vested interest could perpetuate that myth.
  22. The Tories haven't changed tho, they still are very much clung to their old policies. I am voting Labour because I prefer stability, I don't see Cameron improving the country one little bit. Cons will make it harder for the poor families. … but we’ve just gone through the worst depression since the 1920’s, how is that a mark of stability? The recession was worldwide, do you believe Labour created a worldwide slump. I don't think our economic influence stretches that far. I do believe sensible and prudent support for our economy has enabled us to ride out the worst effects. The Tory response has always been to throw businesses onto the tender mercies of "the market". Which caused a terrible recession in the eighties, far worse than this one.Yes we have suffered a small shrinking of the economy, as has every major industrial nation. But this comes after the longest sustained period of economic growth in our history. I'll trust Labour to do whats best for the country, you can keep that spiv Cameron and his dodgy bank clerk Osborne. I just don't trust them or their kind.
  23. Cup please. If we finish fourth does that go on the roll of honour... does it ****. The money hasn't seduced all of us, some of us remember what the game is truly about. Winning CUPS.
  24. For sale 30000 blue and white foam hands. Genuine reason for sale... :
  25. You might have something interesting to say, a valid observation on a particular aspect of a match. Take it from me, people will value your opinions more if you temper the obscene language. It makes you sound less like a fan and more like a chav.
