  1. Sunak criticising local councils for wanting to raise council tax above the mandatory 5% limit, in order to stave off crippling cuts to council services. This is the leader of a Party that has cut the central govt. grant to local authorities by 40% since 2010. They’ll happily offload responsibilities to local govt. that used to be funded direct from Whitehall, then starve those authorities of the money needed to support those things. Duplicitous bastards.
  2. Strictly speaking, there has been sectarianism in Britain for centuries. No Catholic can ascend the throne. Yet another example of how ancient prejudices permeate modern life.
  3. Infuriating the number of times he collects the ball, checks and passes back. Hard to believe he started his career as a winger.
  4. No end product tonight. Got into plenty of good positions but simply didn’t deliver into the box.
  5. My wife worked for the local housing authority for 26 years. She could give you a very good argument against the pillaging of council house stocks . The lack of suitable homes for families who are unable to afford to buy their own homes today, can be directly attributable to that asset stripping of social housing. Incidentally, most of those council houses are now back in the rental sector at exorbitant rents, private landlords and speculators have made a killing. As for private utilities, take a look at your latest bills . The Tories are named after the Irish word for robbers, has any political party ever been more aptly named.
  6. There probably aren’t any. His point I think, was that he couldn’t find any reason to vote for them that didn’t involve him putting selfish self interest above the common good. He was a child of the depression, who lived to see the great strides made in Britain after the war towards making a more just and equal society, slowly dismantled by Thatcher and her latter day acolytes.
  7. For “don’t want” read too ashamed. As Keith Waterhouse once said, people tend to vote Conservative for all the wrong reasons.
  8. Bastards probably ran a sweepstake on the number of deaths during Covid. I jest of course, they wouldn’t……would they.
  9. Whatever the situation with Konsa, this guy must not be picked. He’s a walking disaster.
  10. Placing bets on the destination of desperate people. This is a new low for Sunak. Have we really sunk this low.
  11. They’re right back in the mix for the drop now. How beautiful would that be.
  12. I doubt that. When Israel fights, it’s in the knowledge that if they lose just once, their country will cease to exist. That would tend to engender a hard nosed attitude to any perceived threat.
  13. Needs to be benched for now. We looked more dangerous when Bailey came on. Will hopefully come again for us. He is undoubtedly a quality player, just lost his way at the moment.
  14. That claim is yet to be corroborated. If they were Hamas, then it isn’t assassination. Wars a dirty business, it’s why it isn’t a good look for either side.
  15. The other side to that coin, is why we’re Hamas gunmen in a hospital?
  16. Tories haven’t quite grasped the concept of free people withdrawing their Labour in pursuance of a decent pay and conditions agreement. They prefer a system that compels those free people to do as they’re told. Industrial slavery.
  17. Not at all. His performance levels have markedly improved .
  18. Nice that teams want to pinch our players. Nicer still to tell them all to f*** k off.
  19. Prior to all seating, Villa Park was often attracting upwards of 60,000 fans.I myself attended. 62,000 crowd matches 50, 000 was not unusual. It’s a myth that people couldn’t cope.
  20. There are no Conservatives with a small c anymore. They’re all C***s with a capital C.
  21. What they should reflect. Is truth to power. God help us if they are simply there to reflect the views of any particular group above others. Incidentally the Tories have never polled above 50%. Labour got close in 1945 with 49.71%. Guess people found their consciences and wanted that war to mean something. Hopefully the British people are about to have another epiphany.
  22. Is it? I was simply highlighting a genuinely biased TV outlet as opposed to the BBC. I could just as easily chosen a State owned Broadcaster from another country. Poland, Hungary, Russia and many others are examples of many that lost, or never had, a claim to be truly impartial from Government influence. Look. I get the BBC ain’t perfect, but to read some on here, they are being overly critical in my view. There’s a reason the Tories hate the BBC, they can’t control its output to the extent they would like, long may it remain so.
  23. Taking the tour with an ex player can be good too. My two Grandchildren were shown around by Alan Mcinally. He was brilliant, loads of good stories. The look on their faces when they later saw him on Sky Sports was a picture. As a side, I took the tour of Villa Park with my school in 1968, Alan Bennet the club secretary, was our guide, as I remember, a really nice guy. Obviously the “ old “ Villa Park was still in situ then. Villa Park oozed history and tradition, even if we were entering a difficult period for the club. Glad I saw a tour, that cannot be replicated now, has stayed with me all my life.
