  1. Some Villa fans have never experienced winning a major Cup. Well in my lifetime we’ve won eight, and I was at six of those. No qualification for a tournament we might, or might not go on to win will ever come close to actually seeing our club lifting silverware. Would just love to parade the FA Cup around the City centre. Doubt the noses would be drinking in town that day
  2. I think we would have got on quite well in the seventies
  3. They’ve got away with it before on the continent. They found out the hard way last night that England is not so easily intimidated.
  4. There were quite a few kids there last night, so that’s a no from me. Back in the Seventies I was a bit of a naughty lad, so I hear what your saying, but times change, the games more family orientated now, those days are over.
  5. I know we live in different times, but I couldn’t believe how many female officers were on or around the front line last night. Seriously, in that kind of a situation your gonna need some serious muscle. Or am I just getting old.
  6. Krakow is better. But the reconstructed centre of Warsaw is impressive.looks like they need to reconstruct their club now.
  7. Trophy cabinet full of “qualifications” would be a sad sight. FA Cup being paraded on an open top bus in front of thousands at Victoria square, before being shown at Villa Park, now that’s the thing dreams are made of.
  8. Go to any FA Cup round involving a non league club. It ain’t dead, some people would like it to die, but as long as a David can kill a Goliath, it will survive. There’s no other cup like it.
  9. I was two years old when we last won the FA Cup. I’ve felt the pain of every one of those 66 years. It’s the one trophy that still clings to the romance of what the game used to be all about. I’ll take it above any manufactured money driven so called champions league.
  10. I’ll take the greatest cup competition in the world thanks, and it ain’t the so called champions league. Waited for most of my life to see us win the FA Cup.
  11. The unwashed showing they have more in common with Neanderthal thugs , than they do with decent football fans. It’ll cost them in the long run. If your a parent looking to choose a club for your kids to support, you just ain’t gonna pick these violence obsessed morons.
  12. Legia we’re supposed to distribute their tickets outside the ground. They failed to do this. So no Legia fans had tickets. Some talk about their club colluding in order to force the police to let them all in. That worked out well for them didn’t it. There’s only one guilty group here, it ain’t the police, Aston Villa or anybody else than those Neanderthals, who thought they could do what they liked.
  13. Legia fan said on the radio, they are used to turning up to stadiums ticketless in large numbers, and intimidating the local cops into letting them in. That doesn’t work in England. Long way to come for an evening in a car park.
  14. Legia fan on the radio saying they usually turn up to games on the continent without tickets, and the police and clubs panic and let them in. It doesn’t work like that in England matey.
  15. Reports that 1000 ticketless Legia fans are travelling for this. Could get a bit tasty this one.
  16. It’s the ones with bloody dragons on the front we should be worried about.
  17. If there was more trust in the world, then it shouldn’t be beyond the wit of man to send many of the great treasures on world tours, much as Tutankhamen was shown in London. As for the Greek marbles, they really do belong in Greece methinks. Hell, the British museum only acquired them because Lord Elgin had an expensive divorce to pay for, so sold them to the museum. How would we feel if the Romans had carted off Stonehenge, to “protect” it from invading Saxons.
  18. Actually, the game has a history of top clubs selling their best players. Ronaldo, Keegan, Rush, Cole, Gascoigne, Lineker, De Bruyne etc. we’re all sold by top clubs for good money. It’s what you do with that money, that counts.
  19. I think Unai is savvy enough to use it when he thinks it will be effective, and tweak it when he thinks it might not be. I expect it to be possibly changed against Man City. In Unai we trust
  20. In fairness to Lord Elgin, when he took the marbles, Greece was part of the Ottoman Empire. Turkish soldiers had been using the Parthenon for target practice for their cannons. It could be argued he helped save them, from people who didn’t care for them. However, times change, Greece is now a free country, they’d like an important part of their heritage back. What a wonderful gesture it would be for this country to enable that.We should do, what is so obviously right, and return them to their rightful home.
  21. Well I’m 68, a member of the Labour Party, as is my wife. So don’t give me any of that boomer crap. Remember, whatever pension formula we use, we all benefit from it eventually. Even with the triple lock, our State pension is still amongst the lowest in the major European countries. I pay taxes still, and would happily pay more, provided it goes towards funding a better public sector, and I include benefits in that. Don’t let the Tories propoganda turn generations against each other with their poison. They’ve been doing it for years.
