  1. Just write on it; when 29 years old you reach, look as good you will not.
  2. Yep, my money is on the girl being the offspring of Han and Leia.
  3. Serkis is the dude who says ' there has been an Awakening, have you felt it' in the teaser. Its Luke in the main trailer 'the force is strong in my family......' He says 'my father has it' as it cuts to the melted face of Vader, then 'I have it' as it cuts to the guy putting his hand on R2. I get what you mean though. Rumours are he disappeared after Jedi and has hidden himself away. I reckon he he will come into it late on, with a build to a big role in episode 8
  4. thats the thing for me, its looks so clean and modern, they've nailed the look and IMO in both trailers they've got the music spot on too i think it does give away tiny bits if you're reading up on everything but it doesnt reveal anything really, doesnt give you a sense of sequencing which i like, does look like they're going to get through a fair bit though, finn's on 3 different planets, still some characters left to show, maz kanata, c3po and r2-d2 are all on the poster yet havent done anything in the trailers yet, luke hasnt even made the trailer, hux and soke have been teased but not shown properly, i dont think max von sydow's character has even been revealed yet Luke is in both trailers. It's his voice narrating in the first one and He is the dude that puts his hand on R2

    Drugs

Unlikely to happen, mainly because drug policies generally are written by governments who ignore expert advice and pander to a vocal minority (who tend to know even less) and therefore worry that any major changes will be political suicide. Same with the police. Senior figures only tend to speak out about ending prohibition, once they have retired/left, because they know if they speak out whilst in office, a small bunch of idiots will get them boot. Current laws and policies across most of the western world are an absolute joke, but not enough people have the balls or the power to keep pushing the facts and challenging those who's arguments are based on nothing more than scaremongering, a lack of education on the subject and ignorance of 100's years of human history. There have been times in the past few years when I thought there might actually be a shift to a more sensible policy (legalisation of pot in parts of the US is helping in a way), but whenever the debate seems to open up over here, someone screams Leah Betts and it shuts down again.
  7. I've payed extra for Gold Class at star city. Less people, more space and better seats It's not worth the money for all films, but it will be for this.
  8. Tickets booked for opening night!!!! Haven't been this excited since I upgraded from dial up to broadband and found youporn!
  9. "They will be singing my name again in 3 weeks" Yes We will Tim, the song is called 'we want Sherwood out'
  10. Finished Falling Skies this week. It was ok. It didn't deserve 5 series, but I stuck with it until the end. Wasn't a bad watch, but very much a second tier level of quality. Latest series of Ray Donovan and This is England were absolute class. Brilliant stuff from both shows. Currently watching Suits, The Leftovers, OITNB, Daredevil, Gotham, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, Veep, New Girl and about to start back with Homeland tonight and Walking Dead tomorrow. American Horror and Blacklist back before the end of the month too! Good TV times
  11. Seems to contradict everything he has previously said (what a shock) about how he'd been following all our signings for a long time and that he had the final say on all transfers. Yep. At one point or another he's telling porkies. That point being whenever he opens his mouth.
  12. When he was appointed, I thought it was some kind of joke. I was genuinely gutted. He did a fair bit to change my perception of him early on, and I'd come round to the idea that maybe he was more capable than I thought. He didn't do a brilliant job in my view, but he did do a good one last season. The summer was positive and I think most agreed at the time that Tim and the club had done well in the market. It's been a disaster ever since. Poor selection, muddled tactics, bad substitutions and increasingly stupid post match interviews. All the reasons I didn't want him here in the first place. The worst thing is the bullshit. Lambert did all of those things, but at least he was generally honest with it and you knew he was doing the best he could. The problem is with Tim, I don't think he remembers half the bullshit he comes out with. All that bravado about not being in the same position next year and this being his team. Now it's all about a long hard season and being in a battle, looking to next season. He was supposed to be all about attacking, positive football, yet leaves our most talented players on the bench. Then starts going on a bout a lack of Mavericks! It's sound bite bullshit. He is showing himself to be the chancer many thought he was. I want him gone. It was a mistake. We should thank him for last season and hopefully leaving a few gems behind, but get him out before it's too late.
  13. I too thought this is England was good, a nice reintroduction to the characters. The ending was a bit overly dramatic though I thought! it was like someone had died!
  14. I'd play him as our central striker at this point in time. Westwood and Gueye Holding Grealish, Gill and Traore in front Sinclair up top Get it down and play fast, passing football. Tell the three wonderkids to keep swapping around. As long as they work back, the two holding should provide a secure platform. We we don't need a target man per say, the movement and skill of that front four would be frightening to play against.
  15. Scored again for U-21 last night. I'd give him a chance, he's at least as good as our other 3 options.
  16. Will be our best player this season if he stays fit and gets picked. Absolute class.
  17. I think he makes some fair points and not just about the two forwards. Sherwood was seen as simple up and at 'em manger before he took the job. Tactics was one of the main concerns people had with him when we appointed him. It's still a concern now imo. He has, however shown that there is more to him on occasion. The point about the centre halfs splitting is a valid one too and raised during the game by Neville on SKY. It's the balance between risk/reward and that risk just isn't worth taking imo. Sometimes we came out with the ball well, but often put ourselves under pressure and ended up going long anyway. And aimlessly at that. We were blowing after 20 odd minutes due to the intensity of our off the ball work - another valid and fair point. We re-grouped after half time, but the last 10mins of the first half were a struggle. I don't think it's that critical to be fair. It's pretty obvious stuff, but accurate none the less. He's a young inexperienced manager and it stands to reason that he's still developing his 'identity' as a coach. He wants to play good, exciting football, but is still working out the best way to do it. I think I understand why he set up like he did against UTD, I think he saw an opportunity to get at them early in the season and wanted to get on the front foot quickly. To be fair, it could have worked, but we were a bit pants. Equally, we could have got burned bad, because they were a bit pants too.
  18. 1, 2 at the most. Could depend on getting rid of people. I think we are ok to be honest. If the money is there to sign a proper striker, then great. If not, I think we have got a balanced squad, with bags of potential.
  19. I can't quite work out if his approach tonight was almost genius or just a bit insane. Whatever the tactics, we were just really poor in the final third for the most part. Shame really, UTD were distinctly average tonight and we could have got a result.

    Are You ?

Me too. Not much has changed since I posted that a decade ago! I'm maybe a little bit more hopeful now and expect a bit more, but not much. The perennial averageness of being a Villa fan!
  21. I must be watching a different game! Sure you're not getting your Jordan's mixed up?!
  22. Gana's clearly said he's using us as a springboard to one of the big clubs in a couple of years. I'm fine with it. The way I see it: Worst case - the new boys are all duds and we go down. (Given players like Di Maria, Falcao, Cuadrado etc haven't made it, that could happen). Middle case - we have a few crackers, they keep us up / bottom half and eventually go for big cash and we try again. Best case - most of them work out, with a few crackers. We are up amongst the europa challengers > have more income > are more attractive to better players, so that even if the best go onto CL clubs, we can replace at a better level than we can now (eg 15-20m players instead of 8-12m). And the virtuous circle continues! We're realistically not going to be anything other than a selling club again, but can strive to be in the top tier of selling clubs over the next few years. That last line is a great way of describing the situation. There is a chance we could compete for the title of 'best of the rest' in the next couple of years. If the club does things well. Due the a combination of a low wage base, high transfer income and more TV money on the horizon, we are well positioned to really kick on, if we get the transfer policy right. In the longer term, there is a chance we could achieve more, but that requires outside influences to go in our favour as well as successful management. I do think the league is becoming increasingly competitive season after season, which makes things harder in one way, but may present unexpected opportunities in another.
  23. Shame really. I was hoping he would be replaced. Not good enough for where we want to be. Where do we want to be and what is he not good enough for? Could be a while before we are ready for a run at the title. He'll do until then I reckon.
