  1. Did everyone really get that impression? I remember I thought he was extremely 'raw', you could see he had potential, but I would never have thought he would turn out as he did. Very glad he proved me wrong. Within 10 mins. He came on and imsmr, he smashed Ashely Williams, brought a ball down out of the sky on the proverbial sixpence, threw a couple of back heels in and nearly scored. At work on the Monday after I was telling a Wolves fan we had signed a £30m striker. He called me the day after we sold him to Plop to remind me what I'd said.
  2. I get what you mean there. I'm not quite as 100% convinced on Amavi as I was with Benteke, but it's clear there is a lot of talent there, no doubt about it.
  3. It's probably one of the reasons Sherwood was/is looking at Adebayor for a season. Take the pressure off Ayew and let him develop.
  4. Yeah that's what the creators said, they wanted to get out before it went stale. They won't be short of offers if they can come up with something else even half as good.
  5. We have a player here. He's going to be very, very good.
  6. Banshee season finale was brilliant! Finishing after the next season. Gutted.
  7. Not really, I think you either have ability or you don't. Lol that's a load of rubbish. Of course he's got ability, he's a professional footballer!!! Messi has all the ability in the world, would you chuck him in at centre half? I mean you've either got it or you haven't right?! It's obvious that he has the basic attributes of a centre half. He's big, strong, hard in the tackle, good in the air and fearless. His positional sense needs some work, he has already improved his decision making and has cut out some of the rash challenges. Part of the issue is he wants to win every ball and only with experience will that improve. Needs to work on his distribution too, he will never be a ball playing defender, but he can improve in this area. Tim and his team can work with him and improve him - that's what coaches are for. If he hasn't moved forward in 12-18 months then bin him off for a reasonable fee. No need to chuck him on the scrap heap just yet. No patience in modern football.
  8. Not really a TV Show as such, but I've just watched the 'Radio 1 Ibiza Prom' on iPlayer. Absolutely fecking brilliant. Even if you have no interest in dance music, it's worth a watch. Absolutely fantastic version of 'you got the love' with John Newman at the end. Great stuff.
  9. I'm not seeing the panic myself. On paper we have a group of defenders that a lot of teams around us would like and more cover than most, including the top teams. It's just a shame Okore is still suffering with his knee.
  10. Not enough by themself. No it's not enough, but the foundations are there to be built on.
  11. They are both brilliant Xela. If forced to choose, I'd go with Banshee, but only because there's more violence and sex! In football terms it's like having the choice between Ronaldo and Messi.
  12. Cheers, just read an article saying there is a 'bidding war' on the go for the UK rights and it's set to be the biggest deal since Sky took Mad Men from the Beeb. It does sound good, so I'll be keeping an eye out for that one

    Top Gear

Amazon Prime? Get the fook outta here.
  14. Great day yesterday, still trying to fend off the hangover! We are going to win this series.
  15. I really enjoyed it in the end. I wasn't hopeful after the first couple of episodes, I thought Dillion was 'hammy' at best and feared a poor mans Twin Peaks. It completey flipped from there though and went bat shit crazy (in a good way). On an unrelated note, I finished 'The Affair' this week. After a slow start, it slowed even further and then practically stopped until the last episode, which improved slightly, but in no way made up for the boredom. Very well made, scripted and some great acting, but nothing under the hood. Like a really fit girl with no personality and crap in the sack. Won't be watching season 2, I can't believe it's been given another run. A posh soap opera. Also deleted Hannibal off the planner after trying to persevere with season 3. A real shame becuase it was cracking in season 1. Disappeared up its own bum. Loving the return of Ray Donovan - that and Banshee are the best things about at the moment imo.
  16. Anything could happen. Get a good start, new players settle well and top10 is realistic(ish). Start badly, new guys struggle early on and it could be another long battle. Still more ins and outs to come I think.
  17. At times, the collective delusions of grandeur almost rival the Geordies. Good player, with the heart of a lion. Has steadily improved and no reason to think he won't continue to do so. Local lad, wants to stay. What's not to like?
  18. At this rate, I'm worried about mine for Friday! Will be a miracle if it goes 5 days now, weather forecast ok for next two days. If it rains Saturday you might see a bit.
  19. A year ago I would have agreed but I thought both, Clark in particular made strides in their performances, Clark really seemed to man up, the aggression he showed, he was a big miss at the end of the season. For me they've earned a place in tje squad, unless we have the funds to sign better replacements which I don't think we have I agree. I'd be happy going into the season with Richards, Clark and Baker, with Okore due back in Sept. My only concern is the injury records of Okore and Baker. If there are the funds to bring in a 1st teamer, the great, but not at the expense of Clark.
  20. £2m is a disgusting offer The 1 before the 2 must have been missing on the fax.
  21. Yep, if that video was of a player we had never heard of - this thread would be one long virtual sex wee.
  22. So 50/50/50 you think? I'd say there is a 33.3(reoccurring)% chance he will be good, bad or indifferent.
  23. It's one of those that could go massively either way, or just end up being a bit 'meh'. With no fee attached and just a 1 year loan, then it could turn out to be a decent bit of business. I wouldn't want to go into the season relying on him alone for goals though, that's for sure.
