  1. None of those things are going to happen.
  2. I don't see how anybody can say that he will or won't be able to do this, or why his attempt at coming back is a concern for some? He has trained. He must have done well enough to think this is even a remote possibility. His fitness and form in preseason training will lead to either some game time or his release. He won't get anywhere near a contract unless he plays well and that's a mile away. He will only get a squad number if the new manager feels he can contribute enough to make it worthwhile. There is absolutely nothing to be negative about with this one. Would be amazing to see it happen.
  3. Pretty decent isn't it (and she is too!)? Stephen King adaptations have been notoriously hit and miss over the years, good to see this looks like it will end up in the hit category.
  4. In simple black and white terms, you are absolutely right. It is unacceptable and it's worthy of disciplinary action - in one form or another. There's some shading though for me. Refusing to suit up is refusing to suit up, but he's refusing for the 'right' reason IMO. It's not like he won't play because he wants out or doesn't like the tactics. He wouldn't sit on the bench becuase he felt exasperated that players who are clearly and woefully underperforming are being picked ahead of him. A lesser evil. He's taken a stand. Many are saying he should have 'knuckled down', but he already had to be fair. Black even said himself he'd been impressed with him in training that week. It seems that Black was and is going to persist with picking the players that have not only been the most rotten of a bad bunch, but also the ones fans clearly don't want in the side. It's truly bizarre and it makes me wonder what his agenda is.
  5. He didn't. The journo did. He just responded to the point made and it was a good one!
  6. dunno and can't be arsed to look. You're with trolling with that Lescott comment. How many has he cost us with his general poor play and turning circle akin to a West Mids travel Bus? its a travesty that players like Okore and Adama are being kept out by the likes of Lescott and Bacuna. Black is taking the piss out of us and them. If it really is some grand plan to make the players who got us into this suffer, he needs to come out and say so. The daft prick.
  7. Yep still absolute shite, but...... 11 points in 12 games he has played 5 points in 22 when he hasn't He's better than Lescott and Richards by a country mile, despite the fact he's not that good himself and he's shown some desire to play - can you imagine the chuckle brothers playing through the pain barrier and risking long term unjury for us?!
  8. Done nothing to show he's better than those two clowns!?!?!? That's brilliant Woody!
  9. Jesus wept I don't know what's happened wit that post. It was a straight copy/paste job from a message and now it won't let me edit it, delete the text or anything. Stoopid IPad, stoopid formatting and stoopid person operating - sorry!
  10. Taken from here: http://www.bt.dk/fodbold/aerlig-okore-taler-ud-om-skade-og-konflikt-med-klub-det-vaerste-jeg-har-proevet interesting re the points tally with vs without him - now I agree with him even more
  11. I get it Xela and I wouldn't argue with what your saying as a general rule. I find it distasteful at best, BUT in this instance I can see the players POV. Football has its own rules compared to other industries, but as much as Okore deserves punishment, Black is guilty of Gross negligence/misconduct by picking those two ahead of him. loads of people on here taking the stance against Okore. I assume they all 'yes sir, no sir' at work all week, regardless of what they are being told or how they are treated? I respect my manager and do as I am told 90% of the time, but sometimes you have just got to stand up for what you believe in. Just because it's football, why should it be any different? Okore clearly believes he deserves the shirt ahead of two of the worst defenders I've ever seen in Claret and Blue and I agree with him! As I said, he should of just squared black up for a straighter, not refuse to play. A fellow member has sent me a translated arcticle from a Danish site that has interviewed Okore. The member doesn't post so I'll whack it up. Okore comes across ok and certainly not some mutinous prick.
  12. Was just about to say that! He'll likely come away unscathed in that respect due to the circumstances, but if I were a prospective employer, I'd be having a look elsewhere!
  13. Agree to an extent, but think a couple more could be 'blooded' without doing them any long term harm. They would be well supported (by the fans not their team-mates!) and the young'uns tend to play without the same fear. There is definately more he could do than just keep picking this lot for the remaining games!
  14. The goalscoring midfielder we have been searching for - give the man an extension!
  15. I don't really know why I am defending him either! I just think this one is beyond the pale from Black. We can use all the cliches in the world, but sometimes it's better to be a dick than a swallower and if I was in Okore's shoes, I'm not sure I'd have swallowed it either. As I said, he should have just got violent on his ass, rather than refusing to play though.
  16. 99% of the time I'd agree, but on this occasion I'd say Richards and Lescott being picked ahead of him is the perfect defence. It's an unbelievable decision and Black is a complete melt. His team selection reminds me of Macdonald's 'protest team' against Spuds. Team Okore all day long on this one, although as I said - I'd still get rid.
  17. You kind of feel he (Okore) has a point when legsgonscott keeps getting picked! I'd have him out now just because we can't be having players doing this type of shit, but I know one thing, I don't reckon too many of us on here would be having the crap from Black either! Should've Reo-cokered his ass rather than refuse to play though.
  18. Do we think this was before or after he took his meds? wibble
  19. Godammn, I used to love a bit of Prince and the New Power Generation back in the day. That Diamonds and Pearls album was a classic. RIP
  20. If Moyes is offered it and turns it down, I'd go for Warbuton or big Mick McCarthy.
  21. Amen to that. We have to evaluate candidates and weigh up the good vs the bad. There is no perfect option and it's all about opinions, but the whole point with Pearson is, for a lot of people the bad outweighs the good. Any appointment is a risk. Pearson may well be a 'good' manager, but he carries more risk based on the public outbursts. Not just one or two isolated incidents either. Imagine if we started badly next season? Say we went the first half a dozen games without a win. What if he starts going into meltdown with the journos or telling the fans to **** off? We don't need more division, this club needs uniting. An openly combative character, known for arguing with the media and his own fans. People really want to take a punt with that after the past 5 years? Too risky, simple as that.
  22. Too late now anyway, he's in make up ahead of his unveiling. The club is trying to find a Claret waistcoat for him...
  23. Yes!!!! Several times TRO! Gripping up opposing players, the absolutely bizarre 'ostrich' interview, another one (possibly after the McArthur incident) where he was at pains to tell a journalist that he could 'look after himself' and the one where he told a Leicester fan to **** off and die. He was such a fierce disciplinarian that his own son, amongst other players decided they were going to film and orgy and chuck in some casual racism. Now ok, that last one could have happened anywhere, but it was a bit more than a stray shisha pipe! The guy is an unhinged, ticking time bomb - who's record in no way justifies the risk associated with appointing him. its got nothing to do with being in a 'brigade', he's a **** nut job!!
  24. If the best this new look board can do is Pearson, then we really are in trouble next season. He clearly has an issue managing his emotions under pressure and we can't afford to take the risk. He might be a half decent manager, but he's a wrong 'un. If Hollis & co are doing their jobs properly, they will steer well clear.
  25. Totally agree with that. I am not arguing for a reduction in immigration per se. The number is a cop out and just another ingredient in a mix of ignorance that surrounds the subject from all sides. its probably too late now, certainly for any meaningful change in this, or the next generation, but IMO there are some fundamentals that need to change, in order to to prevent a reversal in the progress that's been made on diversity in this country.
