  1. 3m more than Benteke and would arguably have the same impact, albeit slightly harder to identify because he is defensive and therefore we can't measure his presence on goals scored etc. He's also played in the champions league etc and is a more matured 21 year old if that makes sense. I see no disadvantages really, the price is steep yes, but I can guarantee if Southampton or `Cardiff sign him he will be one of their best players next season. The way it's looking to me is that we offer them 8m and Bannan, win win.
  2. Whilst I would agree, we saw last season that our biggest problem is defending. With the addition of Wanyama and Okore we would certainly be well on our way to abolishing those weaknesses. In my opinion, similarly with Okore, Wanyama is relatively low risk because at 21 he will surely command a higher transfer fee in the future than what we pay for him. As you say though, it is getting the right balance between defensive additions and attacking additions. To me, it definitely looks as though we need more defensive additions.
  3. Rumours Wanyama 10m bid accepted from Southampton. He is EXACTLY what we need, a destroyer DM/CB. Only 21 and I would hope with Lambert's Celtic links he would have an advantage over other bidders. This is the big name signing we need IMO.
  4. If they play well then they deserve a pay rise IMO
  5. I like Leicester because that's where I'm from, I also like Queen of the South in the Scottish second tier
  6. What would a women's shirt look like on a man? Would it be a slimmer fit or larger around the bussom?
  7. I feel like I have been in a similar situation, I haven't read your whole situation but from what I have read it seems more or less identical. An ex told me that she wanted a few weeks break to find out what she felt etc after starting a new job. I persisted and waited, every so often asking if it was time to get back together yet, looking back on it I was being quite a pussy, but I don't really mind as I think I liked her at the time. Anyway, to cut a long story short, she sort of said it we should probably break up but then kept saying it's not definitely over. It sort of went quiet for a few months and I got the message I suppose, then it started up again and was on/off for a few months. Then it went sour and has remained so since to be honest. My advice is simply cut it off, which I know you probably wont do because the thought is still there that it might go back to normal. In my experience it defiantly didn't go back to normal and now it just leaves me with a bad taste.
  8. Not really, a lot of it based around the coach and it's more to do with the sport of American Football. Apparently, 'it uses a small town backdrop to address many issues facing contemporary American culture, including school funding, racism, drugs, abortion, and lack of economic opportunities.' Its not very in your face with that shit though. Certainly not a women's drama by any means, or at least I didn't think so.
  9. Not sure whether this should be an extension into the 'any good tv programs' thread, but seeing as Breaking Bad has its own topic, I feel FNL should. I have just finished watching all of the series, and I absolutely loved it. I like tv shows from America much more than British ones; I loved Entourage and thought Breaking Bad was good for the first three series but I got a bit bored after that. With FNL though, I thought the full 5 series were great. Has anybody else seen it and if so what do you reckon?
  10. Would people refer to the nike kit we had 2 or 3 years ago a slim fitting one? The 32Red sponsored one where the away kit was the white and fine blue lines going down it. That was about right for fit. Loved the away kit as well. ** 2007/08 kit
  11. This. I follow Leicester Tigers and have loads of kits from the past few years. They do a tight fit version that is exactly the same as what the players wear and a 'fan' version which is more loose. I have a couple of both and they are both good.
  12. Looks like Ron's twitter has been hacked, just tweeted the old weight loss spam. He's being looking at things he shouldn't on the old laptop haha
  13. Well it lists it as 4.16m, which is a huge 80k a week. I mean I'm sure we take it with a pinch of salt, but it can't be that far off can it? I mean no smoke without fire and all that
  14. Not sure if this deserves its own thread or whether it even merits a thread but I just noticed something I haven't seen before. When I googled members of our squad, or any player really, I found their estimated salary is listed in the information box that comes up. At first I assumed this was just simply dragging information from Wikipedia, but the information isn't on Wikipedia. You can all do it simply enough for yourselves so I won't link it, but just out of interest it lists DB9's salary as 3.36m per year and Shay Given's as 2.86m. Is this new or has it always been there?
  15. Just watching The Footballers Football Show and when asked about Benteke he said something to the tune of 'nobody is bigger than the club' etc.. It wasn't a definitive no, which I suppose we all knew, but the presenter mentioned 20m and I would possibly be hoping for a bit more tbh. Nonetheless, I really do think Lambert is genuinely trying to build something here and that makes me happily optimistic. I like the guy and feeling good for the future.
  16. Very sobering really, shows that we still need to do a lot of work. Not a bad performance so far, but a long way off what is expected for me.
  17. Maybe the owner of the car is missing and you're now the prime suspect for leaving a letter and placing yourself at a possible crime scene...
  18. knew this would be the reaction. sigh
  19. I suppose, it would be much better to speculate about the positions of potential signings I reckon. So we have a current starting line up as; 22 Guzan 04 Vlaar 27 Bennett (NEW SIGNING) 32 Baker (NEW SIGNING) 34 Lowton 15 Westwood 16 Delph 18 Sylla (NEW SIGNING) 11 Agbonlahor 20 Benteke 26 Weimann If we bring in three established players that would improve us from their first day and a further two young players that can be used in rotation I think we're looking good.
