The only issue I have is that I believe an Attacking Midfielder would be more beneficial than a striker. I see the argument about Benteke getting injured, but if we signed a quality CAM that could play with Benteke and suit a system around Wei and Gabby if Teke got injured I think we would have better options. But until the deadline I will reserve judgement as we could be working on multiple deals.

I said this on Villatalk about a year ago and got laughed off because that's what some people on here are like. I will repeat it nonetheless. My mate a uni did work experience at the hospital department where Lowton's mum works and knowing I was a Villa fan my mate started to probe her on why we were having issues. Know a lot of Leicester fans too and seen him play quite a bit, good at times but tends to drift in and out of games. On his day he is the best attacking player for LCFC. He's fast and likes to run at people, got a decent cross on him and has scored a few fantastic finishes when I've seen him play. When Leicester beat Huddesfield 6 - 1 he was their best player. Don't think he would make an immediate impact tbh, would need time to adapt. I probably wouldn't think he was worth more than 5m but then again what do I know. Would be pleased with the purchase but not over someone who could come in straight away and improve the side.

I'd be bitter if he goes, and I'm not embarrassed to say it. If footballers are going to eradicate loyalty from football then I will do the same and hate them for their footballing future. Nothing personal, I just don't want them to do well at their new club.

Agreed. Ideally we need both, but we aren't in the financial position to go out and buy two 10m signings in both positions. Last season we saw that in a lot of our games we had to score a lot of goals because we couldn't defend, I'm not complaining about that, I loved to see us scoring 3 or 4 goals even though we let in 2 or 3. But in the premiership there is a bigger reliance on a team's defence because the majority of games don't finish 4-3 or with a lot of goals like they do in other leagues. Our attacking line as it is at the moment is alright, our defence is a bit more problematic. We need to improve defensively first so we can start to shut down teams when at 2-0 up. I suppose it's a bit chicken and egg, but if the season started today, I would be more concerned about the defence than the attack.
