  1. From BBC Sport headlines; 'Wenger rules out Villa signing' ...Even Wenger knows we're not going to sign anyone, close the thread
  2. In. Although the EU brings with it countless red tape and bureaucracy, I just don't think we would be in a better position if we left the single european economic marketplace. Plus I would imagine if we left we would face a lot of hostility from the traditional EU countries such as Germany, Spain etc. which wouldn't help with our trade levels. Unless we can propose a new single economic market with the BRIC countries, I see the EU as our best alternative. For what it's worth also, I'm sure Cameron is simply using this referendum idea as a bargaining tool with the rest of Europe. A sort of bluff, if you want.
  3. I was driving past Villa Park earlier and someone was sellotaping their season ticket to the gates. I thought, I'm **** having that.. you can never have enough sellotape!
  4. Our defenders can't defend, no wonder Benteke can't. I am of the belief set pieces are practise practise practise, clearly something isn't right. We have conceded from corners the last four or five games. Surely something needs addressing other than Benteke's defensive ariel ability.
  5. I see no reason why Lerner would invest in order to get us out of the championship when he isn't investing to keep us in the premiership atm. Relegation would be a dark day.
  6. I wasn't joking actually, I was passing on information that I have heard that I thought may interest people. There was nothing in my statement that expressed you HAD to believe it. Also, the player's mum he was speaking to was one of our bright young hopefuls that has been involved in most of our games this year. Make of it what you will, but I would suggest on a forum where fans express information and opinion, your criticism of my post is completely ridiculous.
  7. Have a friend that is doing some work experience with a first team players mum that says Bent is a complete word removed that dosen't care about anything and that Lambert isn't very good and dosen't really have a clue. Worried me a bit tbh.
  8. Really enjoyed Django Unchained. 8/10.
  9. I watch and play a lot of rugby, and at times like this I really do feel that football is a lightyear behind. Jay Rodriguez should be cited after that and be punished, as should everyone that makes a mockery of the game by diving. At the end of the day it is cheating, it may not change the result now but it would be a deterrent for future games. Aside from that, we can't blame our loss on his cheating. We had chances, we missed them. We were largely poor and not clinical whatsoever. We conceded only one goal and that is an improvement I suppose. As Richard says, that result puts relegation out of our hands but it's far from over. I think we can push on and string some results together, but we need to change something tactically because it's simply not working. We also need at least two new faces in the transfer window. I thought Bannan played well when he came on. Although it annoys me Benteke missed those chances, he is stil young and shouldn't be expected to win every game for us alone, if we and PL are pinning all our hopes on him performing well in order to get a victory then I am very worried. Weimann looked average today but I think there is plenty more to come from him.
  10. All over twitter: 'In January 2009, River Plate offered Falcao to Aston Villa for £7m. Martin O'Neill decided to go with Emile Heskey instead. Great Decision'
  11. A tough one, and it would be easy to say after that I want Lambert out. However, I don't think it would lead us to a better situation. I think at the moment we are shit with Lambert but even shitter without Lambert. Lets keep this in perspective, we are in the semi final, and faced potentially the biggest banana skin of this season. We win against Southampton this weekend and its a different situation and we all know it. The main aim is to stay in the premiership, I would hope for better season expectations, but that's the reality. If we sack Lambert now we will be relegated, if we keep him we increase our situation of survival IMO. I hope we will build the squad in the transfer window and really push on. As for Lambert losing the dressing room, if those bunch of players, who half of them owe Lambert their boots for picking them or bringing them to a big premiership club, have lost faith in him then they can fxck off back to our reserves or the shxt club they came from!
  12. 'Our new young terrific squad formed by poaching the lower leagues has just been torn apart by a young lower league chap...the irony Randy, the irony!'
  13. So, here's the question... We find ourself in a less than desirable position flirting with relegation with some people blaming Lerner for this and others Lambert, but would you swap our owner and manager with our rivals? EVERTON: BILL KENWRIGHT AND DAVID MOYES STOKE: PETER COATES AND TONY PULIS WEST HAM: DAVID SULLIVAN, DAVID GOLD AND SAM ALLARDYCE FULHAM: MOHAMED AL-FAYED AND MARTIN JOL SUNDERLAND: ELLIS SHORT AND MARTIN O'NEILL NEWCASTLE: MIKE ASHLEY AND ALAN PARDEW We keep our history, name, stadium etc. No mix and match, apart from that no holds barred.
  14. Might be a coincidence but Lazio haven't lost a game whilst Cavanda has been in the team
  15. I think we could potentially get Coutinho on loan, I see no reason why not. I just doubt our interest in him tbh as I don't think he is a Lambert type of player. It would be a bit like my Nan getting a PS3 and a 3D TV. I would very much like him to come to us though, whether it be a loan or permanent. If Southampton get him it would make me very worried though.
  16. I'd rather Jake Livermore than Huddlestone, although I don't know a lot about him. Anyone care to shed any light on him?
  17. Frimpong has been on loan at Wolves last season and Charlton this season, he didn't / hasn't made any considerable impact at either, is that a sign? Being only 20 though, I think he could do a job as long as his wage demand aren't too large.
  18. Not sure if anyone has uploaded this before, http://tinyurl.com/asmcffd it is supposedly all of the out of contract players at the end of the season. The players I wouldn't mind taking are; Frimpong, Chris Brunt and Hangeland
