  1. Really not excited by Barnes, and although I’m relatively indifferent on Torres, he’d be a far better signing.
  2. He probably goes Spurs if it’s a straight option between the two. Knows Porro from Sporting, and Bentancur from Uruguay. Plus they’re in London, and generally a much more attractive prospect to those who don’t know what we’re cooking.
  3. If that goes ahead, they’ll still get Europa League. Was really hoping for expulsion from the league though. Or at least a Europe ban for a couple of years.
  4. Is there a reason why they wouldn’t want to increase the number of games in a season? That would allow more players able to get match experience? 20 seems low to me.
  5. John, I owe you an apology. I thought you were not good enough for this level. I thought your technique and decision making would mean that lower half Premier League would be your limit. Then Don Unai arrived, recognised your strengths, and made you play to them. Now, you’re undroppable, and been probably our best player in this calendar year. You’ve cut out the Hollywood passes, which was always my main gripe with you, and you now make the right decision/pass 19 times out of 20. I’m very much back in love with you, and I’m a fool for ever falling out of love. Super John McGinn is back, and I for one could not be happier to be eating humble pie.
  6. People giving it to Young genuinely baffles me. He’s started 22 league games. I like the guy, and he’s been the ultimate professional, but come on, this is player of the season, not club man of the year. Anyway, each their own. I’ve gone for Doug. He’s been fantastic this season, oozes quality and nine goal contributions from midfield is a lovely cherry on top. Mings and Martinez follow quite closely behind, but Doug wins it.
  7. I was being a bit facetious, I admit. However I’d have no qualms of him being a squad player next season, unless of course we can book an FFP profit on him, then it’s best for all parties to part ways. I am glad he’s doing well though, but it’s also a warning about future signings, that just because they look objectively great on stat sites, that they might not be quite what they seem.
  8. With regards to Dybala, Italians always state wages after tax, so you can pretty much double what you’ve read to show his gross wage.
  9. If we had the choice of Lo Celso or Guendouzi, I'm backing the former. Guendouzi's form falling off a cliff is a massive negative for me, I don't understand why people are selling it as a benefit for us. Not the sort of mentality I want from a player, and kind of backs up what happened at Arsenal by the sounds of it. Not saying I'd be disappointed if we signed him, but out of the two I'd prefer Lo Celso.
  10. Still, 5/12 of the semi finalists of the three European competitions are Italian. Very good achievement.
  11. Absolute farce. Inter and Milan don’t deserve to qualify for Champions League, but this is such an unfair way for it to happen. Juventus have been playing without pressure since the deduction, and now magically have all of those points back, too.

    Protesting

It's got people talking about the issue again. No one was harmed, and won't exactly cost much to repair the damage. I love snooker, but I care more about the long term impact that fossil fuels are having on Earth. Good on them. Also, it was only Perry v Milkins, so done everyone a favour really.
  13. Scored a goal tonight! (He also missed a penalty, mind).
  14. I’m also an Inter fan (through my mrs). Dumfries wouldn’t come to the Villa, and is also really not what we need. He’s a liability defensively, and wouldn’t suit the way Emery wants to play with the right back being more conservative. He’s got Man Utd and Ten Hag written all over him. Just hope Inter can take them to the cleaners for a big fee!
  15. How do you know, you only joined a few weeks ago?
  16. Looking back at the promo video that we released. Looks below as if the Trinity and the Holte is connected far more than it is now: So maybe a few seats there? There's also a different roof on the Holte End in this video, so there might be bigger changes in the Holte in phase 2 than we originally thought, which would bring about those additional 2k or so extra? Or am I reading too much in to a promo video...?
  17. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/integral-advising-football-s-l-/beraterfirma/berater/6811 Looking at the agent’s list of clients, it must be Lee. Not sure how I’d feel about it being instead of Pote/Williams, but alongside one of those would be a very good signing. There’s always the frustrating military service to consider with Korean signings, but it is what it is.
  18. I wonder what they’re going to do about their stadium renovation. It was due to start this summer and be ready in a year (which sounds like it would be delayed by at least a year anyway). Surely if they go down they won’t do it, however they might abandon it even if they stay up, until they’re more secure on the field.
  19. I’ll be disappointed if we signed Phillips or Ward-Prowse this summer. I back Emery and team to go out and get someone truly top tier from Spain or France. People mentioning the likes of Walker-Peters, Billing. Sorry to disappoint you, but these aren’t the calibre of players we’ll be aiming for now.
