  1. Have to say, Saturday was one of the most god-awful days I have had at the Villa for a long while. That performance was peak McLeish/Lambert/Sherwood, the only difference being the team is far more expensively assembled. Let's just limp to 40 points and hope the summer brings better things.
  2. I'd quite like to see just a nice routine 2-0 win here. Nothing fancy, get the basics right and get back to some kind of structure or solidity. If we can't do that against Watford then we really are looking a bit bereft.
  3. Giant cat James Corden is the stuff of nightmares.
  4. The 75-80 mins or so that he's been on the pitch at Villa Park have been an absolute joy to watch live. Loved every second.
  5. Hope Moyes names him on the subs bench and sends him out to warm up on the touchline every few mins in every game for the rest of the season. I'm sure he'll get a nice, warm reception. What a POS.
  6. Hard to disagree with this. I've no love for Bruce at all but bringing in decent, hardworking professionals was clearly very much needed at the time. That said, I do think Chester and Adomah were RDM signings but happy to stand corrected. Probably the sort of characters Bruce would've liked, either way.
  7. Can't say I'm shocked to have seen it all unravel there for him. Ismael's style of play was never suited for a club that considers itself one of the bigger fish in the division.
  8. Can't say I've any great love for them as a club. They've had a fairly toxic atmosphere at Goodison for as long as I can remember, certainly since Moyes left. They booed Martinez, booed Koeman, booed everyone since.
  9. Love JJ, really unlucky to not have an extra couple of goals already this season.
  10. Tough one to call tonight but, as others have said, one we really ought to be winning if we have any aspirations of a top half finish. Would like to see Ings get some minutes, I'd back him to punish any potential lapses in concentration at the back by Norwich.
  11. I signed Vagner Love for us on Football Manager to be fair and he was quality
  12. To me, the VAR decision (while an absolute joke) actually did us a favour in that it galvanised the entire ground - the second half atmosphere was incredible from my place in the Holte End and I definitely think it contributed to rattling Schmeichel. We came out with such intensity second half, we really ought to have thoroughly blown them away. Making me laugh seeing Leicester fans say they've lost to an "inferior" side and that they wouldn't have any of our players in their team. The only one worth a place on the pitch yesterday was Barnes IMO, the rest of them were appalling. Far too big for their boots, them lot.
  13. It's the sort of thing I'd expect from the shower down the road at Stan Drew's. Swing and a miss for me, big style.
  14. Won't boo him, but I hope he never comes back to play for us. As others have said previously, we all bought into the dream of "villa fans in it together", that was the line we were fed. That has since fallen apart - Jack is gone, Dean is gone - and we are in a new phase. I'd hope that by the time he fancies coming back for one last payday at 33/34 with battered legs, we're well passed seeing any use for him.
  15. Could've been even worse if Seferovic hadn't tied his boots together!
  16. WATCH: Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood kicks his way into Bodymoor Heath* - Birmingham Live (birminghammail.co.uk) Apologies for linking to the Birmingham Fail
  17. Didn't Ellis appoint MON? Think it was his last act before he sold. Lerner can't even claim credit for that one!
  18. That gif of him walking into Bodymoor with a Boots meal deal or whatever in his arms while he kicks the disabled access button to open the door will always make me laugh.
  19. Wayne Routledge, Michael Bradley, Jean II Makoun and Simon Dawkins all sharing joint 1st on the podium for me.
  20. 13 for me, excluding caretakers
  21. In terms of Gerrard going back for his former players, I would take Glen Kamara as a defensive midfielder and Ryan Kent for left wing, price dependent. No idea who I would go for as a left back, but somebody who can replicate Matty Cash's dynamism wouldn't go amiss. I really do like Matt Targett but the guy looks absolutely broken of late.
  22. This is pretty much how I feel tbh. If appointed, I will back him of course. But right now I do fear the worst.
  23. He's won fewer trophies in Scotland than the St Johnstone manager to be fair.
