If we are in the championship next season there is no guarantee we will still have Mings, Tuanzebe, El Ghazi and Abraham, they would be a big loss and difficult to replace. We will jist have to hopes smith can unearth some gems if they aren't with us next season if we are still in the championship.

There are at least two matches in that ten match run that he was the best or joint best performer.

Whelan plays really well for weeks and weeks, at times our best player, makes one mistake and some people are back to the old AV tricks of "zomg terrible zomg end of the world zomg neva play 4 us again ya". Granted Hourihane coming on was the right move today and he changed the game, but Whelan is a good player who is capable of moving the ball around while doing good defensive work, yeah he isnt a Hourihane for goals/assists, but Hourihane isnt a Whelan for the defensive work. Whelan, like Hourihane do their respective jobs well, one mistake doesnt make Whelan bad, he just made a mistake, deal with it and move on.

It was a great save from Rodriguez, but...... I do wonder in relation to his height (6ft?), is quite small for a goalkeeper, and that outstretched save with his smaller frame (for a GK), i wonder if it makes saves look better than they actually are because he is doing his best to counter his smaller size, for example, if that was Kalinic and he was at full stretch, he would have got his whole hand to the ball rather than fingertips (assuming kalinic would have got there). Anyway, not saying it is or isnt an issue (his height), but i do wonder if his smallness for a GK makes average saves look better than they are. (ie: a de gea/kalinic etc who are tall, would just put a full hand on the ball if they got to it)

I hope Hause starts at LB, I know Taylor has been doing ok but I really think Hause is our best LB and we shouldn't be sentimental in such important matches. Would go: Steer Elmo - Axel - Mings - Hause Grealish - Whelan - Mcginn XXX - Abraham - El Ghazi Honestly can't decide on the right AM, green, kodjia, uncle, Davis?????

Our clause was to allow us to match what anyone else bid (probably taking in to account loan fee), so they can set the price at whatever they want really.

Same for ronaldinho, he was quite tall and wirey but oh boy could he shield the ball and roll players like they weren't there.

This is the problem with loans, they play excellent and they go back to their club a success or the price is hiked 500%. I know we needed it this year to get us where we are, but I hope next season regardless of division, we don't loan in half a team again unless we have a specific purchase clause. Will be gutted if we don't or can't afford to buy Mings.

The problem is if we don't have Grealish we would almost certainly need his transfer Income to get the squad to a standard to get promoted, so it's kind of a catch 22.

I heard he's good, we could prob pick him up for a steal and he could solve our DM problem. In fact screw it let's just offer 20m for him and offer him 80k wages on a 5 year contract as I'm sure fans will need someone to replace Richard's in their heart.

Honestly I'm so shocked we made the playoffs after that record breaking run, I can't decide whether to be positive or realistic about our chances in the playoffs. Honestly also I'm not even sure I want us to go up this season, part of me does and part of me doesn't. Or is it that part of me doesn't want to admit that I want us to go up for fear of another failure

Villa view are good, do match previews and reviews, and some really good fan cams. But i seriously prefer the main two hosts than the other two who do the odd vids. Villa on tour are also good, he does vids of the match day and discusses before and after the matches the performance etc.

You make a good point there. They were discussing last week that the man city first 11 cost 440m and the man utd first 11 cost 420m. That's a perfect example of investing well and not investing well. (Kind of, obviously the money involved is obsene - I just mean in terms of compared achievement and performance for basically the same outlay)

that makes them idiots for paying it, doesnt mean we have to be idiots also.... there are probably handfuls of players we could get for 20m or less, who could do the same or better job, the Premiership is littered with this exact scenario: Vardy - 1.5m Callum Wilson - 3.5m Richarlison - 13m (to Watford) Lukaku - 15m (to Chelsea) Arnautovic - 3m Benteke - 7m (to Villa) Suarez - 26.5m (to Liverpool from Ajax) Granted some of these are semi historic, and i admit that Abraham has "potential", but he is unproven at Prem level, the same as any other foreign purchases we would make if we got promoted, and 25m+ is a lot to spend when you could buy 2-3 foreign players for similar money. Im not saying buying Abraham wouldnt work out, im just saying its a lot for an unproven premiership player who actually misses a lot of chances, yes hes scored 25, but some of his misses are glaring, he wouldnt get half the amount of chances at Prem level so would need to up the conversion rate drastically.

He wasn't playing in the right system, now we are playing more intricate balls and a passing style, he will be able to make those darting runs off the defenders shoulders. We will see the best of him now he was made for this DS system....... ...............................................
