  1. Ian Atkins is over scouting, worked with Round at Everton and Bruce at Sunderland. Has done nothing to inspire confidence.
  2. The only positive thing in the summer is that the wage bill should come down with the likes of Gabby, Terry, Snodgrass and Hutton all likely to be on big money. Assuming that is around £180-200k a week that should be enough to build a competitive championship 1st 11 on if there were some clever free transfers/small money signings made. We have to wait another 18 months to get rid of Richards, Elphick, Jedinak and Whelan.
  3. Dean Smith won't want to leave a club that is as well run and as clever as Brentford to work for the dim witted management in place here at the moment. With all the money squandered stupidly too means there is even less incentive for him to perform career suicide.
  4. Very rarely has he done it, Jordan Henderson would be the best player he ever brought through I reckon.
  5. The money squandered on the likes of McCormack and Hogan coupled with the obscene wages squandered on average slow 30 somethings have been the undoing of any promotion hopes. For a supposedly intelligent man Xia has been almost Lerner like in his stupidity. That being said If he is going to gamble a few more million it should be on convincing Bielsa on a project of reconstructing a fallen giant and giving him full creative control within a budget.
  6. Was it not a case at the time he left that we could not compete with Leicester for wages?
  7. Monk gone from boro. They won today so I take it he is returning to Swansea.
  8. Sad to see what was once such a well run football club decline so much. I don't think even Pulis could save them this season, if anything they need to find their identity again and find the next Martinez/Rodgers. This would also require a return to possession football.
  9. Gone completely stale there, poorish recruitment leaving only Fletcher, Allen and Adam fit to play in central midfield and the team has a big lack of pace. Mark Hughes' negative demeanor can't be good for morale either. I'd be fairly happy with him as a replacement for Bruce though.
  10. Just read something elsewhere stating he was at Stamford bridge today.
  11. Somewhat odd to be at another teams game when his own team is playing?
  12. I noticed Steven Reid on the bench for them today too, I had no idea he was on their coaching ticket. From his time as a radio pundit he always came across as intelligent and affable. Looks a good appointment. His playing career was unfortunate to be blighted by so many injuries.
  13. Zaha is class to watch, Cabaye has got his form back a good bit too and they look defensively sound. They should end up safe enough in midtable.
  14. It seems I may have been wrong about Moyes, he has them organised at the back. Still would love them relegated.
  15. It will take a few losses on the trot before he is sacked and the team will continue to scrape enough wins here and there to keep him in place so this purgatory will continue for a good while yet.
  16. They were going to take her freedom of the city away regardless as it was well mooted before Geldof got involved. He wouldn't try dictating when it comes to royal honours.
  17. 2 good backs to the wall performances but when it comes to winning the dogfights against teams around them I still see them struggling.
  18. I'd be of a similar outlook when it comes to doping in football. I didn't believe what I saw in the Barca (Fuentes of Operation Puerto fame was caught before he took over but I'm sure they had access to other dodgy doctors after) days and don't believe what I'm seeing now either. Then again I believe doping is absolutely rife in football as testing is pathetic and the money involved so huge. Just some teams can push the envelope further in my very humble uneducated opinion. Pep still is a genius regardless but should have done a lot better last season, his messing around with back 3s and playing Fernandinho full back with Kolarov in the centre was bizarre.
  19. Could he do a job up front? I know it is sometimes not ideal for a young prospect to be played out of position but if he could develop the right instincts in the box it would be great. He has the physicality, pace and technique required just a matter of application.
  20. Sanctimonious arsehole Bob Geldof 'disgusted'. http://www.thejournal.ie/bob-geldof-disgusted-dublin-freedom-3751784-Dec2017/
  21. He is 33 years old and has played almost every league game this season. He plays in a position where he covers a lot of ground and as mentioned is old. When playing 3 games in a week he should be rotated with Jedinak, it would help his performance levels.
  22. He is 19. After every run of bad form I've called for Bruce's head and am still confident I am right in doing so, hopefully his next bad run will be his last here as apart from maybe scraping into the playoffs there is nothing else really to hope for at the club at the moment.
  23. Bilic has lost his managerial mojo since getting a hair transplant.
