    Had a Quick Look at the teams. Mitrovic, Neves, Koulibaly, Milinkovic-Savic all play for Al-Hilal along with a load of Arabic names I’ve never heard of and two very out of place names in Michael and Malcolm who both started for Al-Hilal The other team features C Ronaldo, Laporte, Sadio Mane!, and Telles. Ronaldo’s team lost, ha! They should have selected some Dave’s and Colin’s.

    Same here, I’m pretty despondent about England nowadays. I can get up for the World Cup, but this Nations League crap…

    I understand the doom and gloom after two home defeats in a row, but it’s not that long ago we beat Man City and Arsenal at home. Let’s not forget that. Even with injuries we still have the potential to beat Man United, it’s not a given that they’ll just win. I’m expecting a reaction this weekend, we need a big performance and I think we’ll get one.

    Emery is a victim of his own success with some fans, we’ve improved so well and so quickly that all the talk of being in a title race has left people feeling like it’s a failure if we don’t finish top four. I’ll be more than happy even if we finish sixth this season, it’s incremental progression over last season and European football again. We were never going to win every game and the difference between starting well and finishing not so well versus starting poorly and finishing strongly, leads to a huge difference in reaction despite the end result being the same. It’s going to be a fight to the end and Emery has earned our trust to get us there. His 2ppg includes our rough patches, so let’s hope our returning players help us refind our form.

    Chelsea played out of their skins, that’s their best performance of the season and will give them a huge boost going into the remainder of the season. They were faster, stronger, sharper than us in every department. Seeing our players get brushed off the ball and ran through time after time was hard to watch. It was like we were playing within a shell, but I think that’s due to Chelsea pressing hell out of us and closing off the passing lanes into midfield. The lack of movement to find space was an issue though, no real excuse for that. We really miss our strongest settled defence. Konsa, Pau and Digne would all be starting if fit, and we’re all key to our brilliant run. Carlos and Lenglet aren’t leaders, and don’t have the defensive or offensive quality of Konsa and Torres. I thought Watkins played well especially given the lack of supply, and it was good to see Diaby score. There’s work to do if we are to stay in the top five, let’s hope we can turn the form around and get some of these players back soon.

    I can’t even be arsed to comment. Just awful so far, time to shake up the second half and see if we can salvage some dignity.

    Winning is important but we definitely can’t afford many more injuries. Thankfully it’s not a choice between these three, we can achieve them all.

    One thing I will say I’ve noticed living in South Yorkshire is that most people do tend to the support local teams. I see way more Sheff U, Wednesday, Barnsley, Rotherham and even Donny fans than I ever do the glory hunters. And that’s despite year’s of underachievement in the county. Both Sheffield clubs have struggled with poor ownership, and while United have had recent success with promotions, I’m not sure how much longer they’ll keep that up. I can see them dropping back to mid table championship obscurity again. Sheff Weds reached the championship playoffs twice and failed to go up, that was their recent peak and they dropped off to League One. Without new investment I can’t see them ever threatening the playoffs again, that’s if they can even get back out of League One next season. I always wanted to see Wednesday do well because I know some genuinely nice Wednesday fans, I’d love them to go on a run and relegate small heath, but I can’t see it

    We’re also missing one of the most explosive derbies on the planet.. Ipswich vs Norwich. Where rival fans can sit together safely and enjoy a few bevvies in peace.

    Konsa will be a massive miss but he’s only one player, we’ve got it within us to step up again and still win games. Just have to hope that we have both him and Pau back before too long as Carlos and Lenglet will be ready for a rest.

    I’ve always shouted “f*** them up, get into them, f*** them up, get into them”. Makes more sense and sounds better to me. Only at the football, I should add, wouldn’t ever chant it when picking the kids up from school.

    Oh no, this isn’t good and such bad luck to get injured by the post. It’s not like a normal sporting injury, really unfortunate. Konsa is our best defender and we’ll miss him. Let’s hope Carlos and Lenglett can step up and fill the gap, also be quite nice to get Torres back sooner rather than later.

    It was always gonna be Newcastle 4-4 Luton on first, an exciting score line and a great result for the underdog Luton. Villa kicked off later, later games usually feature further on in the show, don’t they?
