  1. Start him. Helps us (hopefully) get the win, gives him better fitness and sharpness so he hopefully is more clinical against WBA and also helps him get used to playing competitively with some of our summer signings.
  2. I was born and used to live in North Devon and I support Villa, does that make me a plastic fan?
  3. Birmingham Mail are saying we are after Dennis Praet and Youri Tielemans. I appear to have woken up inside a game of Football Manager.
  4. Usually Eris Kismet or Sherwood would do it for them. As long as th back it up on the pitch then so be it.
  5. He needs to take a long look at Gabby and see the wasted potential and realise he needs to start busting a gut. However he would probably just see his money and lifestyle and think Gabby is a huge success.
  6. If only there was a way to reignite his motivation. I've never been a huge fan of his but he could be a lot more then he currently is and that would be good for Villa.
  7. League comes first. Id rather give staying up a shot then chance of a cup win. Winning the league cup hardly saved Birmingham City from embarrassment when they were relegated.
  8. I'm not a fan of Gabby but from what I recall he does have a pretty decent record in this fixture.and it is one of the few games where he puts a shift in.
  9. Sherwood saying Gabby will save our season if played.
  10. With Costa in hospital today this is looking unlikely.
  11. The first job of a defender is defending, being good at attacking is definitely helpful but not being a complete liability is more important. His attacking play yesterday was good enough, not great but good enough and caused Ranieri to bring De Leat on for Mahrez.
  12. Maybe he should start playing with his back to goal?
  13. Bloody auto correct. I really need to start checking my posts before I send them. 'Frankly auto correct I'm tired of your shirt.'
  14. Bournemouth also loaned Iturbe (a £17m winger). Adobe scored today and could've been great for us.
  15. Surely one of our young strikers must have some pace and potential?
  16. But is Lerner still the owner?
  17. In the 15 minutes since I posted this Chelsea have gone 2-0 down and then fought back to 2-2.
  18. Sod it. Let's just go on a winning spree and overtake Chelsea so that they get relegated. Cue insane laughter....
  19. Austin to Saints now is a strange one to me as I thought they'd wait until the summer. They're mid table obscurity at the minute so guessing they're going to push for Europe. I also cannot see him playing either ahead of Pelle or up top with him so guessing he will be a squad player.
  20. Austin at £4m is a bargain and we should have bought him last summer. Surprised he has gone to Saints now though and not with waited until the summer.
  21. A decent man marking job on Mahrez (like Sanchez did in the last game before he went off and the game turned) might make all the difference.
  22. We are in similar industries. I buy exotic metals for engineering companies in the oil and gas market and previously the medical sector. There is good and bad to all systems and processes but let's hope Villa can at least start getting more right than wrong.
  23. Guessing he has been given permission to return to France occasionally whilst recovering. Spend some time with family and friends to try and keep his spirits up. I'm sure he will be back in brum for physio work quite a lot.
  24. Agreed Stevo. That's a common misconception of CI based upon Kaizen and something I have to argue against everyday at work. Generally three aspects of a purchase can be controlled; cost, quality and availability/lead time but people usually only see cheaper and assume it means poorer quality. The idea I hope we are aiming for is better quality at same or better price - see our Ligue 1 recruitment last summer or 'bargain' free/cheap transfers of Man City players (the success of this is debatable). I'm hoping Hollis will be looking at the business side to try and do similar but hopefully league player recruitment alone but under the remit of 'buy better'. His statement today does concern me as reads that we have already given up on relegation and do not fear losing the biggest revenue stream ever known in our business model. His part about Randy being prepared to back to get us back up would sit better with me if he didn't also repeat the money is not success part. It is not guaranteed success but makes it a lot more likely and the lack of it greatly increases chance of failure.
  25. If nobody else can help you I can take another look sometime. Are you playing 15.3 or a different version, my last save with Villa was with a up to date transfer database so we had veretout and Amavi etc.
