  1. It's one thing a team captain telling the rest of the squad to buck up and work harder but it's a whole bigger issue doing it in the media. Keep comments like that inside the dressing room, as what is said in there should stay in there.
  2. Ighalo has been in great form this season and is worth having, hopefully he has a bad game against Villa.
  3. I know. It took Ronaldo an extra two years to do that kind of levels of performance and value.
  4. I think this is a major problem in the English game. I remember quotes a few years back from an ex Man City player (think it was Ireland but might be wrong) saying he would turn up to training and see 17 year old kids wearing £20,000 watches, driving round in super cars thinking they were the big I am when they hadn't even made a match day squad yet.
  5. I agree about traveling together to build morale, it's the same when I play rugby. If Jack did make his own way back, he might not have given any excuse and simply said "I'll sort myself out thanks" and they trusted him and left it at that. Also, how do people know he didn't travel with the team and then jump straight in a taxi to Manchester to meet his mates? Would be expensive and a lot of traveling time/money but he has cash to burn and I've known 19 year olds do crazier stuff for a night out.
  6. As an adult Jack should be allowed to make his own travel arrangements after a game if he asks too (assuming he is done for the day), to force him to ride on a coach with the team is to treat him like a child. However, an adult should show that same level of respect to his manager, teammates and club and not do something inappropriate. Sadly it appears that Jack lacked the sense and maturity to do so.
  7. Firmino is probably worth hanging on to, seems to be coming in to form. Got 38 points this weekend, and averages 16 points a week over the last three games. Liverpool have a decent run coming up too. Question marks as to how often Klopp will play him but I reckon he will get minutes going forwards.
  8. I think a January move for Austin depends on if he wants to go to the Euros with England or not. If he stays in the Championship until July he will make more money on his next move but he will not get selected and will miss the tournament.
  9. What I don't get about the points system is that it appears to keep jumping about, no players involved in today's game but two in yesterday's and points appear to have changed since lunchtime
  10. I like the scoring system as it requires players to be fully involved in the game to rack up lots of points. An example being the Arsenal game this weekend, Giroud scored a goal but did very little in the game apart from that and only got 7 points. Whereas Alexis Sanchez didn't score or assist but worked his socks off to try and win the game and got 24 points. You have to think about the total performance and how much a player will try and get involved in the game.
  11. We have to spend money in January on players who will have an instant impact, not prospects for the future with potential.
  12. You are probably right. I mean it definitely makes more sense to have poor communication on the pitch, in the dressing room and at BMH. In a potentially divided dressing room short of confidence ensuring everyone speaks the same language is absolutely guaranteed to make things worse. Especially when it's a language none of them can speak. It's certainly it going to help those French players adjust to loving and working in England. What a fool Garde is, I can't believe he hasn't followed Wenger's example and made everyone only speak French. Ray Palour, Merson and Tony Adams all clearly benefited from it. So to ensure communication is solid, languages need to be banned? Surely a better way to increase communication and indeed team morale might be for the English players to help the french players speak English and at the same time gabby and Co could learn another language themselves. I didn't say languages need to be banned, I rather suspect Garde didn't either but it makes for a good headline especially for certain elements of the media. Are you seriously trying to argue that the rest of the squad should learn French, despite probably having no grounding in it in order to help these players make the transition. And that that is a better idea than the French players, most of whom already actually speak English and all of whom have at least some English use that language. The language of the country they are now living and working. Never mind the fact there are more English speakers than French, lets cancel training two days a week and get a language tutor in and they can learn to ask where the bakery is. I'm sure that will help us mark on corners. What about the other nationalities? Do the rest of the squad need to learn Spanish as well as French? I'm sorry but this criticism is just a little daft and actually seems like criticism for the sake of it. Wenger insisted on English back in 1996 and so i'd imagine does just about every other overseas manager working in this country, just as I'm sure is the case all over Europe the domestic language is the language of the dressing room. Sorry Woody but I agree with TV here. If Gabby and Westwood went to France would the rest of the squad be expected to speak English to cater them? Westwood in for Sanchez, wonder if that will be a long term move?
  13. Are there any rules about minimum number of goalies you must have? Is it okay to just have one? What happens if they don't play? Not sure if it matters as there are no auto subs but would it be an illegal line up?
  14. Love the 'Justin Credible' name your using; I remember the WWE guy who used that name years ago. Unless that is actually your real name?!?!?
  15. I snapped up the chance to buy Tekkers back for £6m on fm15, didn't need him but couldn't resist. Then swapped him for Lucas Ocampus the season after. Liverpool have a crazy amount of strikers.
  16. I've just seen this myself and had to do a double take. Do you think we could sell him to Real or set up a swap for Dani Caraval?
  17. Their asking price has fallen as he has less time left on his contract, if it gets to zero he leaves for free. They're hoping he will help get them promoted first but this is looking unlikely. The injury risk rumours stem from a failed medical a few years ago, but he has since passed medicals since then so should hopefully be okay.
  18. I'm curious as to how they would know? If you're offline how can they tell if you are playing or not?
  19. I had this problem on FM15 in my fourth or fifth season, had a transfer budget of £50m but had overspent on my wage budget and fair play restrictions kicked in. I couldn't offer a contract of more than £100 per week to anybody, even in renewals for existing players. I had a 33 year old Cahill wanting a new contract and willing to drop his wages and couldn't even do that. I sold my star AM before realising and couldn't sign a replacement, the entire season was a write off that I just couldn't enjoy.
  20. Amavi out for the season, a loan for a left back or recalling a loan must now be a priority.
  21. Where are these rumours floating around? £8m would seem a huge drop on what they were after a couple of months ago and even if they were prepared to accept that sort of fee how likely is it that he will wait until the summer and leave for nothing in the same way that Ings did? Various places, mostly redtops and online sites so not the most reliable sources but he does only have 6 months on his contract so his price will be dropping or he leaves for free. He has been quoted as saying a January move could be possible.
  22. Rumours floating around that Bournemouth will go for Austin in January to replace Wilson. QPR want £8m for him, even though he'll only have 6 months left on his contract. I reckon we might be interested at that price if we are still in the bottom three.
  23. I dropped him this morning too, would have preferred to wait until after the international games but needed to avoid the price fall. How quickly do people think Aguero will be match sharp and scoring? I kinda feel it will take him a few games to find form and he might not be worth picking up until December. It usually takes Aguero 2 or 3 weeks to return to full scoring form after an injury layoff. The question, though, is if you're prepared to wait for him to start scoring, given that he'll rise by 0.2 or 0.3 in price before then. If he wasn't so expensive to begin with I would probably get him as soon as he comes back, but to have £13m worth of player getting minimal points whilst getting match sharp again might not be worth it. I can get two form players for that amount the way this season is going and I'd rather have that for a few weeks and lose out on the price rise.
