I think we could have convinced Afobe to join and he would have scored goals, helped us get promoted back up if we did go down and I think his value is only going to increase.

Being a pedant the window didnt open until the 2nd. But we should've had a striker agreed before then so that they could have joined up asap. How many more points would we have right now if we had a decent striker the last month? How many games did we play well but have no end result? How many more players could we have then signed later in the window? We could've at least tried to stay up or start preparing for a promotion run next season. Doing nothing the whole window is unforgivable.

Man City are letting Bruno Zucculini out on loan again. I think he would be a great DM for us in the summer. Granted I only know him from FM.

Only way they're down is if it is too many signings and they can't get them to settle. But I reckon thye should have enough to overtake one of the three teams above them. They're only four points off 15th and have signed some decent players.

Was watching the Championship Show on Channel 5 this morning (first time ever and in prep for next season) and they highlighted a banner displayed by the Charlton fans that I thought could also be aimed at Villa. 'Support the team! Not the regime!'

He has been training with the under 21s but is apparently one of the last to arrive and first to leave. He will be doing his contractual obligations though.

The metro news website is pretty far from journalism, it's mainly people just reposting whatever is trending online. I think most of their contributors are unpaid bloggers. Not a dig at the webpage as I look at it most days but I wouldn't ever put much stock in their news reports.

Any team that will struggle in that league and give us a better shot of coming back up. I think that Sunderland would struggle and possibly Bournemouth. I think a lot of their success is down to having a settled squad and confidence from past promotions; relegation would knock their confidence a bit and I can see a lot of their players trying to force a move back up after tasting the Premiership. That being said I would absolutely love it if by some miracle Chelsea went down.

And about 18 more injuries. That being said I would absolutely love to be proved wrong on him and for him to play his heart out and fire us to safety. I think however I am more likely to win £500m on the US powerball and become the next owner of Villa.

This is what I struggle to accept. How are Bournemouth and Norwich offering a better financial package then we are? I know the (likely) answer but I cannot accept it.

A high proportion of the players that the teams above us have signed are all likely to be playing in the Championship next season.
