  1. You forgot to cook them from cold after they'd par-boiled. You didn't mention seasoning so I'm assuming you left them alone for 30 minutes without turning or seasoning them first?
  2. My one game was a Minnesota Wild one and they were playing their big rivals (think it was Colorado or someone). The away fans didn't chant once the entire game and the home fans continually chanted the same song nonstop... "let's go wild... Let's go wild... Let's go wild." obviously an imaginative bunch.
  3. Qatar will qualify and purely on sporting merit of course. In no circumstances will referees, players or coaches be threatened and have passports taken away whilst playing, have difficulties with training or rest (like noise or fire alarms at hotels) or be offered large bundles of cash if Saudi Arabia win.
  4. If you Mooney 'spirit level' on your phone it turns into one. Completing the challenge of taking a screenshot whilst holding the phone perfectly level also cheers me up. Not that any of you will appreciate it.
  5. It's basically a late night show for perverts, voyeurs and exhibitionists. "how did you two meet?"... "well she got her chuff out on TV and I liked the look of hers more than the other 3 on display"... "Dad, please tell me I'm adopted."
  6. I'll be honest I buy Yorkshire puddings when I'm doing a roast. I can make them but it's a faff and not sure it's worth it when you can just buy 4 very nice ones (which just end up covered in gravy anyway) for £1 and throw them in the oven for 5 minutes.
  7. People won't give up their cars. They're too lazy. See people doing journeys under a mile all the time. At my sons school I'm the only one who collects their kid on a bike (even a guy who runs a bicycle repair shop doesn't do it and uses his van). I think 2 or 3 other families occasionally walk but everyone else is in cars (usually a 4x4). My neighbour drives 600 yards to her work.

I did say at a guess. It would be 160 miles driving in rush hour so I'm guessing there'd be a fair amount of wastage. Even if it's £25 a day, it's a completely unnecessary £25 a day as I've WFH without issue for 2 years. I'm also not getting a £50 a week payrise to cover it or the 4 or 5 hours lost sitting in traffic.
  9. Rewatched Little Miss Sunshine having not seen it for about 10 years. Holds up and still fantastic with a brilliant ending.
  10. Not a fan of Men's Health but this popped up in my news feed. Hadn't heard of this guy before but fantastic achievement and great lifts. They'd be solid for someone half his age let alone in their 70s.
  11. The most enjoyable/entertaining thing that game was getting a pretzel, the one fight wasn't even very intense and more like just shoving. I've got no desire to ever see another game so obviously misremembering timings slightly.
  12. Been to one game when visiting a friend in the States. Knew there were 15 minute quarters and got really confused when 8 minutes in everyone just started skating around not playing.

My wife is always telling me off for having phone chargers plugged in or laptop chargers connected when not in use. It's the same for TVs in standby mode.
  14. Hate when they split the season into 2 parts. Curious to see how they Elliot Page's character in Umbrella Academy after his (hopefully that's the correct usage) transition. Assuming they'll write it in?
  15. Yeah but it also goes back out again so you can't trust it.

They do if the switch is on or it's a USB port. There's a capacitor in them that effectively makes them small batteries and constantly recharging. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-10640385/Vampire-electrical-appliances-sucking-cash-bank-account.html
  17. Don't forget the advert breaks half way through the quarters, just like in ice hockey.

Have you got a lot of 'vampire devices' plugged in like phone/laptop chargers, TVs on standby etc. They are constantly draining electricity and it can all add up over time.

I relocated from Yorkshire to Cheshire last year as was assured by my boss that it wasn't a problem as we were remote working. They now want me back in 2 days a week at 80 miles each way. That's going to be about £50 a day at a guess.
  20. Just heard a woman sat on the table next to us in the cafe ranting about how she is completely for the death penalty, especially for Putin as he's evil. She then announced that she and her husband spend half the year in Saudi Arabia. Wanted to point out the irony in that but my wife suggested it was a bad idea.
  21. Well he's obviously only saying that to help Liverpool.
  22. Fair enough. I'll be honest I've put shows like Bluey on for the lad because I want to watch them.
  23. For your kids or just for yourself?
  24. The lad actually loves dinosaurs and has a ridiculous amount of dinosaur toys and clothes. Will give Dinosaur Train a go this weekend. Appreciate the recommendation.
  25. I tried to put it on for my 4 year old but he said he'd grown out of dinosaurs as they're just for little kids and massive nerds (the last bit was implied).
