No I’m from the south, and know plenty of people who previously or currently live/work either side of the border. Nordies are welcome to dual British-Irish citizenship to continue benefiting from freedom of movement but I’m not sure making Unionists apply for Irish passports was the Tories’ plan.

More seriously: VAR is far from perfect but scrapping it isn't the answer. It makes mistakes both ways but take last night for example. Ref would have still given the penalty with or without VAR. We were bolloxed either way. The decision wasn't VAR's fault.

I don’t think we see anywhere near the best of Trez As for the pace, Alan Hutton said at training he’s one of the fastest players at the club. Agreed Luiz’s ability has always been there, and agreed that Luiz is a much better player than Trez.

Based on his performances? No, he’s been muck. My point is that I think he has more in his locker. Glimpses here and there. The only way I can reconcile these glimpses with his repeated inability to pass the ball 5 yards is his head’s not in it. Like a good goalkeeper whose nerves are shot.

VillaTalk syndrome: player gets better the longer they have been out. Samatta is a threat in the air and has a bit more about him. Whenever he got the ball at the edge of the box, Wesley looked about as threatening as a plastic bag. Frustrated everyone. Agree with you they do different things, but jury’s still out on who’s the better player IMHO.

I think this is it. Chap is clearly skillful, despite what everyone says, and clearly very quick, despite what everyone says, but it’s just not clicking at all. He can barely pass. Not got his head right. Home-sick or whatever.
