I think expectations is where we are on different pages: you just compared the current crop to one of the worst showers to ever play top flight football. I agree we’re not there. But we ARE at a stage where the manager publicly questions the players’ commitment in press conferences. I think that speaks absolute volumes, far more than looking sad for the camera.

The players are nonchalant. Even Dean Smith has admitted he thinks they have a mentality problem.

I think we’ll be relegated this season. (Hope I’m wrong, but I think we will.) Bjorn should take his bollicking. I am surprised by VT rushing for the “just needs an arm around his shoulder, poor fella” cliche. These are the same people who complain when we lack ruthlessness on the pitch.

I have no experience of making 7 figures a year. Obviously I make less than that, and even then if I have an absolutely dogsh*t day I worry about getting fired from my job. Bjorn Engels has more job security than I do, and gets paid ten times more.

I’m sure his 25 grand a week (or whatever he’s on) will keep him warm at night. Yes we all feel sorry for him but he’s a professional footballer. I won’t feel too much sympathy for him if we go down.

Of course. Had they miraculously managed a win today they were only four points behind Villa. With 13 matches to go! I reckon they'll go down of course, but there's many twists and turns left.

The UK now asking for a Canada-style free trade agreement. Under that deal, foreign companies could sue the UK government for deviating from regulations. Sovereignty, innit. Also under that deal, Canada eased its visa restrictions on Romanians entering Canada. They had to, or else the Romanians would bring the whole thing down. Backed to the hilt by MEPs, can you imagine how much the Irish government is going to extract from a Canada-style UK-EU deal? Phil Hogan will have a statue built for him.

I was using short-hand when I said we'd be in the relegation zone in a month. As in literally the next sentence mentioned our next "ten or so matches" being a tough run. So, despite having clarified this was obvious short-hand, yer man there went back to the focus on exactly one month... not that he was being pedantic or anything

Alright, let's put a bet on it. I think Villa will drop into the bottom 3 at some point before the end of the season. If we don't, I'll give £20 to VT. I'll even offer you odds of 2/1, so you only have to give £10 if it does happen. Or were you being pedantic and complaining about "in a month" as well?

Very poor today. Awful passing and not much better defensively. Not sure I've ever seen such a one-footed player. Bring Engels back, and move Mings out to that left CB position. Can't believe Chester was allowed go. If we stay up, he's one of the first players we need to replace.

Trez is an experienced international who didn't immediately settle in England. Like the man between the sticks tonight. Still a lot of work to do, but there's a player there.
