  1. I think the idea is that’s it somehow better to have the more difficult opposition a bit more spread out over the fixtures, as opposed to one after the other. Like somehow the weight of losing three difficult games that carries over and increases the chance of losing the fourth, less difficult game. <shrugs shoulders> I don’t know if there is any true merit in that thought. Fwiw if I was given the option of having Citeh, Arsenal and Liverpool all in a row or separated over a couple of months, I’d probably choose the latter. But it’s a gut feeling more than anything.
  2. Fifteen games. Pessimistic mind, let’s say we don’t get anything from Citeh, Arsenal and Liverpool. Nothing. So that’s 24 points from 12 games to reach 70 (we might need more, I think we will need a couple more, but let’s look at 70). That’s 6 wins and 6 draws. Man Utd, Fulham, Forest, Luton, Spurs, West Ham, Wolves, Brentford, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Brighton and Palace. I look at those and I think we should be getting something from each. It’s just can we turn West Ham away into a win, can we beat Wolves at Villa Park?
  3. If a game has ended 4-4 between anyone, that will probably be the first up. Then its between the Villa game and the Spurs game for second spot. Taking the Villa specs off, I’d be tempted to put Spurs on before as it’s a bit more dramatic and it features two high profile sides while the Villa game is a rout and has one bigger side and one side making a swift departure from the league. I’d go - 1 Saudi game 2 Spurs being spursy game 3 Villa not ruining my weekend game 4 The “explain why this is a rivalry again?” game 5 Burnley 2-2 Fulham game (a bit unfair that this is last, but not much I can do)
  4. Just had a quick look. According to wiki - Ring of Fire apparently wasn’t released as a single in the UK. Heroes reached number 24. Sonnet was released as a fourth single but only in a way that made it ineligible for a chart position. Summer of 69, Rhiannon, 9 to 5. Yeah none made the top 40 for whatever reason. Not sure about Proud Mary,
  5. I don’t feel like that about any food or drink, I think. I have a “ooh I could murder a cuppa” feeling when I haven’t had a tea in a while. But nothing beyond that. If cola didn’t exist, I’d probably just have lemonade. I’d probably miss it more as a mixer.
  6. I left at 3-0 down home to QPR during 2017/18. It was on a Tuesday night, having been rearranged from being a Saturday fixture due to the Beast from the East. We had beaten Wolves 4-1 three days prior. Talk about a reality check. Utterly miserable. Making sure I could catch the train was a factor in leaving early. Although in fairness I’d have probably left earlier even if it hadn’t been.
  7. Try and remain ahead of Spurs going into our game with them, which I think we will purely because of the two point cushion and Spurs’ game with Chelsea has been postponed, so one fewer for them. Long way to go.
  8. The constantly penny pinching, bargain loving Carl Weathers is my favourite.
  9. Well, yeah because I can’t sit in a pub not having a drink while I’m waiting for my daughter to be let out of school and ideally I’d like to offer some patronage to the pub on my way if I find I have some additional time to kill. Or when I’m out for a meal with my folks and I’m driving, ideally I want a beverage with the meal. Edit - we’re talking about one glass a week on average. Whether that’s the equivalent of Ewan McGregor screaming in bed while he imagines a dead baby crawling across the ceiling level of addiction I guess is down to the individual.
  10. As it goes, I don’t find it addictive in the slightest. I order it when I’m driving mainly due to a lack of alternatives. An occasional cup of tea is sometimes bought. But that’s in the colder months. Orange juice, too sugary. Cordial/squash, I’ve never had one from a pub that I’m particularly happy with. Not drinking alcohol free. Options are kinda limited.
  11. Can’t massively tell the difference between the full fat and zero coke stuff. Certainly not enough for me to have an opinion either way. So I have the zero stuff and avoid having 40% of my daily sugar intake in one drink. I would be utterly hopeless at the Pepsi challenge.
  12. If “Morgan Rogers” scanned with “Buck Rogers”, we’d be in business. Such is life.
  13. Pretty much how I feel towards her. Although in fairness I don’t see her on shows often. I think she’s intelligent, generally I feel like television is better for having someone like her on presenting. I’m kinda glad she’s a success. But there’s something about her that I just don’t warm to. Maybe a condescending quality I’m picking up. Don’t know.
  14. I’d give a bit to charity. Whatever you feel comfortable with.
  15. I’m ever so sorry. Re reading your post. So the order is - 3rd - “fantasy land” 4th - dunno, something? 5th - stone cold realism That about right? Those who think 3rd was a possibility aren’t delusional per se, but they are residents of Fantasy Land? The point is, if you want to have fewer people calling you negative for your view, you’d likely be better served not calling others delusional. You can’t control how others reply to you, that’s on them. But you can control how you phrase things. If you want less name calling, practice it.
  16. Villa must win some matches between now and the end of the season in order to finish 4th, 5th, 6th or even 7th (and lower). So by that rationale there are “must win” games. But I don’t know if any one game is. If Villa lose to Sheffield United but win the other 15 games, then no, Sheffield United isn’t a must win game. But to reduce the must win-ness of other games, beating Sheffield United would help.
  17. Well, there’s a patronising tone in this final sentence. Up until then you were doing ok.
  18. Calling people “delusional” for suggesting the club will finish 4th is equally as bad as those calling people “negative” for believing the club will finish 5th. Two glass houses. Plenty of stones have been thrown at both. Add to that the all encompassing “I told ya so” glass house that surrounds both, once again waiting to be broken.
  19. Big ol’ caveat to begin with. I have not watched The Traitors. Any of it. Despite that, they way I see it being discussed on here, the way I see it being discussed elsewhere in the media, it seems like it would be the natural successor to take the mantle from The Apprentice in the “reality show that requires its own thread on VT” stakes. Not that I’m bothered either way, I don’t often appear in this thread. But I don’t know, it seems to provoke a comparable, enthusiastic vibe. The water cooler chat, as it were.
  20. I guess the reasoning for describing it as sickening is simply that he probably doesn’t deserve to be among the highest earning managers because he’s not a very good manager. Whereas he legitimately earned his substantial wealth as a player because he was a good player. But I don’t massively care. If the Saudi league want to waste money paying him, it’s no real bother to me.
