  1. How can the first not be a penalty, he doesn't get the ball and goes straight through the player, from behind, who goes down, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be a penalty?
  2. Decent video from them, some great VLOGS are available for most teams but I have to say I'm not that impressed with any that cover villa, there's a space in the market.
  3. I think that's where he struggles, aggression. He's not the biggest but he seems to have been lacking in aggression. After that point he seemed to just get stuck in more, not going to win every header or challenge but he needed to try, after that point he did and it made a difference to his influence on the game.
  4. Carlos and Kesler ranked as our 2nd and 3rd best performers Aston Villa came from behind to beat Bournemouth and keep their bid for a top-four finish and Champions League football on track. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68810622

    Unai Emery

I hope you are right. I see a manager who is working at 110% for the club to be successful, he's away from Spain and his family, living to work. I think he's clever enough to know he can't keep that intensity up indefinitely. If we continue our current trajectory then next season we challenge for the top and have a decent run in the CL. Season after, same again. I think at that point he's achieved what he set out to do, establish us at the top..... This guy is a once in a lifetime occurrence, he's a truly outstanding manager, if I was a fan of any other team I would be fascinated by his success, as a fan of villa I'm awestruck by it. He is giving us an opportunity to break into the top 4, (we're lucky with timing as well, other clubs are fading) and maybe an outside chance at the very top. Once he's gone we need to continue what he started, we need to be building a team in the background that understands football and how it should be coached and managed and what managers offer us that skill set. What we don't want to happen is what has happened in the past with both Doug Ellis, Randy Lerner and Purslow picking managers without having a clue (because they like them)

I would want Emery to help pick his replacement, can't see it happening for a least 2 more seasons though but we have to be "prepared" I truly believe we will challenge at the very top next season, we wasn't far away this season and had injuries all over the pitch and Emery hasn't really brought in many players. 2 or 3 signings and we're there or there about, truly remarkable.
  7. The speed and mobility of Rogers and Ramsey would be a frightening proposition to play against. Going to be interesting to see if he starts against Chelsea and if he does how he gets on against Gallagher who I rate highly as a dm.

For years we have picked up and coming managers who we have elevated to being our manager. Emery is the first time, since MON/big Ron that we have picked a manager who is above our standing. From now on let that be a lesson learnt, the manager is easily the most important person at the club. Break the bank amd get the right one, otherwise your building on sand.
  9. We was missing both our central defenders and Dignes. No Rogers either. Midway through some indifferent form. Chelsea are a good team but their not on our level and I can't believe I'm saying that.
  10. So what , one defeat doesn't define us. Emery will have a plan and we're a different team playing at a completely different level. We have grown, watch ollie and Rogers today, Bailey. Unplayable. We will beat them, I have no doubts .
  11. We have to be favourites to beat Chelsea, 8pm kick off on a Saturday night, villa Park will be rocking. Palmers good but we're on fire atm.
  12. With him playing like he did today his going to be very close to top scorer. He's due a few goals after todays performance, best forward display I have seen in a long time.
  13. First tackle by young was a penalty, straight through the back of him, wtf is VAR doing?

    Matty Cash

His heart is unbreakable, makes mistakes, keeps trying, no matter how up against it he is, he never gives up , some players just shrink under pressure, impressive . Is he good enough? I'm not sure tbh but he's got us 4th place and he's ours, that's good enough for me.
  15. Better 2nd half. Looks unplayable at times
  16. He's world class, grown over the last 6 games, best striker I have seen at Villa and that includes Yorke
  17. Great performance all around but ollie was unplayable today, won everything, they were petrified of him. He's world class
  18. If anyone can wipe out a huge majority it's her, hopelessly incompetent.
  19. I said this to the Mrs, seems likely. His story would be a very interesting one I'm sure of that.
  20. Playing in his position he needs to have a drive and confidence to push on and show how good he is. I'm pretty sure that given a run of say 10 games that he would grow into a decent player but that's not enough at our level, he needs to understand that he's getting 1 or 2 20 minute chances to impress and impose himself on the game, the next 2-3 years of his career hinge on it. Just look at Rogers, he's pushed through that change in level and he's making an impact, his character must be very strong to do that at his age. Tim needs to give it his all and take his shot, he's got very few games left to do it. I watched Philogene yesterday for nearly all the game.......he's not ready for premier league football, IMHO.
