  1. Horrible ref I agree with, he was dreadful, and that's a warning for European games at this level..
  2. The most frightening part of this type of player selection is how long its taken us to start finding them and it appears to be another one of Emerys strengths (he's a football god). He's a big lad with a subtle touch and an eye for a pass, strong on the ball, improving off the ball with each game. He's local, has a big support network and knows the area, feels at home. Reminds me a little bit of Tom Huddlestone, his stature and his eye for a pass and strength. Hopefully he isn't as injury prone as Tom + fitter.
  3. It's the political swing right in the west that's the real concern, pro putin politicians are gaining traction in the old Eastern block. It's points to conflict, I just hope we keep our aircraft carriers out of harms way because from what I have heard/read they are very vulnerable and very unreliable.
  4. They looked flat to me, Hallard didnt look bothered by any of it. Looks like they need fresh blood in to motivate em. Hopefully Arsenal can put a run of wins in to stick some pressure on them and they stutter. Be great for football if they won nothing this season, come on Chelsea.
  5. How exciting, can't wait, nerves have gone, I'm sure we have enough and can't help backing Ollie to drag us through tonight, 2-0 win on the night.
  6. What a mess, unbelievable that evil people can dictate their will on a nation and then hide it from the world with bots. Makes me wonder where its all going to end, it ain't looking pretty on multiple fronts.
  7. Frank Warren has managed him well for such a limited fighter, came apart against Joyce (not unusual) but then seemed to jump ahead of him getting a shot, good manager (+ other fighters didn't seem worried to fight him) On the subject of boxing..... thinking Tyson may knock Paul flat out, it's a Tyson like thing to do tbh and I can't put aside the feeling that his style will be to much for Paul to deal with even at 50 years old.

    Arsenal

I have a feeling their gonna do Bayern and shove it right up Kane
  9. Until your told 'you have cancer' you just don't realise how it affects you and the people around you. You have a fight to fight but you also have to deal with the fact that no one lives forever and that includes you. In many ways it's devastating, in other ways it's a wakeup call, you have to make the best of every day and help others have a good day as well. It all sounds like one of them shite hanging messages, 'one live , life it' but sadly it's all we have. What i tell myself is, Continue to kick the shit out of life until you can't, we're all going one day it's just a matter of time.
  10. Everyone challenging for the top 4 is what makes the premier league popular, we need to keep it competitive and that's why man City are such a threat to it all, they are boring cheats. Spoilt kids. We are favourites this week, next week who knows.
  11. No, it's measured by how well the teams did the previous year
  12. How? Chelsea maybe.......but the Financial pressure is only going to get worse, they have to sell players if they dont get Europe......Manure seem to have nowhere to go without spending 100's of millions and completely ripping the team apart. Spurs and Newcastle will improve, Liverpool wont and Arsenal will probably stay more or less the same, without spending a £100m on a striker. As a neutral looking in I'm sure Villa would be high on the list of teams who are going to challenge for the top, Emery will have some more players in and some players back from injury. Our squad will be very strong.
  13. There's land south of the HS2 area and South East (the otherside of the a45) that's been, developed (dug up ). Tbh the whole green belt between cov and brum is under threat with developments. There's no perfect place but villa Park is a million miles away from what we need and most of the objections raised against say the nec location, are amplified at Villa Park, no modern transport, no parking, no hotels, no space. I love the place as a fan but from a business point of view it's just not going to do it if we are really on a journey to compete at the very top.
  14. I'm sorry to say your wrong, no new models into castle brom, biw and some sub assembly stuff.
  15. Arsenal allowed him to run into that space unopposed and never followed him, when we played Chelsea they followed the midfield running into defense to receive the ball and it caused us issues. That's why Rogers and Zaniolo are important if we have that type of opposition, we need another option to pass to and on Sunday they gave us that option, every player has to be brave enough to accept that pass (they wasn't needed against Arsenal but they was there) I reckon Arsenal thought we was going to sit deep and they could go more offensive in midfield without being under to much pressure to defend, when we started to break forward with Tielemans passing range it was only going to end one way, Surprisingly Arteta stuck to his guns and never countered it, maybe that was a bit of stubbornness from him not to concede he had been out thought.
  16. Need to change my motm award, he killed it.
  17. You may not be too far away there, Jaguar Castle Brom is about to lose car production, there's a train station being planned there. Flying in from China and parking in someone's front garden ain't gonna tick the boxes on a holy grail visit to villa Park.
  18. Doesn't really matter what any of us thinks these are in the business to make villa a leader in competition, they have said it enough and from what we have seen its going to happen and the ground, whether it be in aston, Sutton or Marston Green is just a debate. I think there's a clear winner from every angle.
  19. The hs2 is separate to the existing station and there's another transport system being built, light rail i think. As for NEC car parks, where do you park at Villa, I'm parking at the side of a road next to a scrap yard.
  20. 1 game a week on average at times that normally won't clash with business events. Huge car parks, 2 motorways within 2 miles, a45, a452 dual carriageways, an airport, a station that goes straight into Birmingham, within 10 minutes, new HS2 terminal 500m away, Into London within 35 minutes, a new light railway going in to further increase capacity into Birmingham, entertainment center pre built with more space to around to develop. Hotels right there on its doorstep, casino, cinema, its all there already. Its a staggering opportunity. As for worrying about drunk fans staggering around, I have been one of those and the lack of pubs around villa Park tell you a story, there's not many staggering fans left, their not our future audience. The premier league is a international competition, its watched all over the world, we stand on the edge of being in the elite group of teams, we need a ground and facilities that can attract world wide fans for their holy grail visit and make the most of them while they are there.
  21. The NEC is the perfect location for this type of stadium. It has everything you need already there and the HS2 arriving within 5 years. The airport is in Birmingham, despite really being in solihull. Its a big move but anyone that knows that area understands the potential for it, there's not a better site in country let alone Birmingham.
