  1. Every team has good fortune. If you were to break leeds's performances down then I'm sure they would have equal amounts of good luck.
  2. Although he has improved (which isn't really hard considering how low the bar was) he is still a long way off being a competent, solid keeper. I don't hold out much hope for him, being 28 year old and still not know when to come for crosses and when to stay back. Its bread and butter for any capable gk and he can't seem to manage it.
  3. DS's approach was subtly different. Tuanzebe stepped out of defence more frequently, which helped to break up boros compact shape. Also the wide players were further up the field to stop their wing backs getting forward and balls in to the box were often low to negate their aerial strength. Yet we still pressed and got the ball forward quickly like we try and do every game. So there is a general style, which is tweaked depending on the opposition. This is how all the top managers approach games.
  4. He was doing well when bielsa was in charge, but a change of manager and style hindered his performances. We all know how easy it is for good players to look garbage when the manager doesn't play in a way that suits them. I don't think there is anything to worry about with el gahzi tbh. He will be just fine for us.
  5. I'm just going to say it... Our entire midfield and front line are premier league quality right now. Defensively tuanzebe and possibly chester are also the required standard. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that we could get bolasie, Abraham and tuanzebe back on loan next season, with us also taking our option to buy on el gahzi. Then we would have enough cash to use to strengthen the defence and general squad.
  6. In other news... i think liam rosenior is by far the most knowledgeable and balanced pundit on tv right now. Always provides a good insight and tells it accurately.
  7. Still a bit shaky but made a worldie save from hugill at 2-0.However we need a better all round gk as nyland's deficiencies will continue to cost us points.
  8. Had a good game and fully expect him to keep his place against the baggies.
  9. 3 goals away against a team who had only conceded 10 goals in 19 games. No team is safe in this division against us! That should strike absolute fear into every single opponent.
  10. I can't get over how weird that sounds. 6-5 for a game of football bonkers!
  11. He is a very versatile forward, with the ability to play target man, hold the ball up, run the channels or run in behind. The main area he needs to improve is his finishing. I can see why he only scored 5 for Swansea last season, as he needs about 4 chances to get a goal. He won't have got many opportunities playing for a relegation side in the Premier league. If he can become more clinical he will be a top striker.
  12. The zonal making was more concerning. Never been a fan of it and was the reason Lutkeiwicz was free on set pieces time and time again.
  13. It looks like DS might not have been the small cog in the wheel at Brentford after all. Since leaving, they have lost 5 of their last 6 matches and gone from 5th to 15th. Early days, but does suggest there is more to his success than just a good club infrastructure.
  14. So going down the kebab shop before a game doesn't count then?!
  15. Unless cutler can work his jedi powers on Moreira as well, then we will need another keeper in January regardless of how nyland performs.
  16. Is he really significantly worse than Grealish?
  17. What were the key outcomes from the meeting yesterday?
  18. Brought him for 3m and now reckon we could get 25-30m for him??
  19. While our previous manager used to spend his summers sunning his belly, DS would rather shadow other managers and clubs to learn new ideas. This proactive approach is a complete waste of time as Dean's vitamin D levels will be too low to roll up his sleeves and have a go in the season. ?
  20. And you don't think we were inconsistent last season?!
  21. We have a similar points total to last season at the same stage. If we hadn't capitulated after wolves at the backend of the campaign, we would have been challenging for automatic promotion. This gives me hope that a top 2 finish isn't out of the question.
  22. I like the fact DS doesn't talk up the opposition pre-match - he talks his own players up. A massive contrast to Bruce's negative, underdog rhetoric.
  23. Reducing Tony's shareholding % maybe? ??
