I am pretty confident Rodgers will not be top of their manager shortlist so there is definitely a chance he could come to us.

The cash injection could be any number of things. I have seen it suggested that it is to cover wages, pay off loans, reduce Tony's percentage shareholding or pay off Bruce. I wouldn't look to much into this unless there is supporting evidence to back up the Bruce out narrative.

For example, player recruitment is by committee consisting of the DOF, manager, scouts and data analysts. Sports science is the same (DOF, manager, coaches, data analysts, physios, nutritionists etc). The days of one man controlling all aspects of the club are gone and if clubs don't start using this modern approach then they will get left behind. Villa is in danger of falling back, with the likes of Leicester, Southampton, Wolves and even Brentford embracing modern methods and reaping the benefits of it. This is one of the reasons I think brendon Rodgers would be a good fit. Some people think he would not come and manage in the championship but, let's be honest, it's at least in a par with the SPL in terms of quality. With the right vision he would jump at the chance. Bruce is a seige manager - dig in and battle hard against better teams to bring them down to your level. This doesn't work when you are the ones with the better players. You need to be hammering home the quality advantage to be successful.

I don't think we will get a new manager until a DOF is appointed. They will want to bring in someone who has a shared vision of how the club should play and develop.

It's historical data but you need the context of the situation to make it relevant. Comparing Bruce's win ratio to teams that got automatic promotion is relevant as Bruce was (and still is) managing a squad who, on paper, should be challenging for those places. 42% vs 60%+is poor in context.

You aren't completely right there. There were many teams better than villa in the Premier league so win ratios will be low. But in the championship villa are a big team so win ratios will be higher. The average win ratio for automatic promoted teams over the last 2 seasons is approximately 60%. Bruce's ratio as villa manager in the league is about 42%. Well off the pace with one of the best squads in the division. If he achieved that win ratio with man utd or a similar team in the prem he would have been sacked.

Comparing Bruce's win % to these managers is not accurate as villa were a bottom half team in the Premier league for most of that time. As villa are effectively the man utd/chelsea/Liverpool of the championship win ratios should be compared with the managers of these clubs rather than old villa bosses. Doing this shows that Bruce's record in the championship is mediocre.

Our demise started after the European Cup victory. Years of under investment with doug, followed by poorly managed investment under randy and mismanagement under xia.
