  1. Then I am blaming you for our current predicament...... you should obviously go to more games! Really think this one has draw all over it
  2. A legend in my lifetime ! Happy Birthday Ron
  3. The CCTV thing is interesting as the garage forecourt staff are not allowed to give out copies of the material, it is covered by data protection. She would have had to report the matter to the police and they could then have required the petrol station to produce the evidence to them. As has already been said get a lawyer involved asap.
  4. As ever I am slow to react but ... i like it !
  5. PS For the older ones bumped in to Tony Hateley a little while ago , look in great fettle.
  6. You mean paid back to Randy Lerner by Randy Lerner? Yes unless Randy is making a charitable donation, which I havent seen so far he will want to make a business case for the expenditure, which would require some form of payback over a set period of time
  7. I agree with what you're saying but isn't there also the possibility that having a bigger capacity could equal cheaper tickets and therefore attract more people on matchday? Just a thought... No dont see this, the huge investment required to build these things has to be paid back so usually that means higher prices not lower
  8. Hmm! Andy Carroll my irony muscle has just gone into spasm. This is the same Andy Carroll who appeared in THAT photo with Downing, apparently a prime driver in pushing for him to move across to Scouseland. And now the outstanding payments from Downing to be used to help pay for his move to us .. its a mad mad world! :?: :?: :?:
  9. There seems to be a 'Lambert is boring' trend quickly building here. But I dont remember any of this before the OGS bandwagon started to roll. Norwich played some good stuff last season and thats whats important not that the man himself is being highlighted as the typical dour scot. For all of that and just to prove I can jump on a bandwagon as fast as the next. OSG would get the excitement back and restart a passion for Villa that was in danger of slipping last year and thats after 49 years following the claret and blue
  10. Perhaps it would help if we could suggest some suitable location for him to resettle his wife and children in and around the Birmingham. Having seen the MUTV clip it would obviously help if it had fjords, mountains and the odd lobster or two !
  11. Are we missing the point about OGSs interview, he says he attended the meeting because he wants to 'meet their questions about the initial call' Who made this initial call? the way he has phrased this is unclear, but surely if he made the call it only increases the likely hood that he wants to come.
  12. That would be worse. It would mean he is not strong willed to follow through on his convictions. What manager would join us knowing that the Chairman was the fans' puppet? They would never be secure in their job. We would also be a joke IN the game. As he has now approached McLeish he HAS to see it through. Why does he have to see it through??? If you're an employer do you papersift potential employees CV's but only interview one??? that would be daft!!! To get out of this, Randy can interview 1 or 2 more candidates and simply say AM wasn't the best equipped but thanks for trying! True but at this period of time he HAS offered him the job. So if he then withdraws the offer because the other staff don't like the look of him, then you would seem weak. And I am an employer. Completely different in this situation. We as the supporters should be seen as the employer. Without us the club can't survive... He wouldn't seem weak if he pulled the deal, as it would be to satisfy us supporters. We keep the club running and are the ones that will continue to do so for years to come. You can't really compare this to a normal company. Sure, you can between the chairman and the manager, yet you can't class us as 'staff'. There are only 2 managers who would have satisfied the fans Ancelotti and Moyes. Both of which there have been strong signals that they did not want to come. Would managers of any ilk be happy to come to the club that if the supporters are booing them after the second game then the owner would sack them?? We are not the employer. This is not a co-operative, this is not Barca. My own opinion is that we have become spoilt by the amount of access to the board we have had. I think that was a big mistake on the boards part. It has made us feel that we too entitled. Our job is to support the club. We are all entitled to an opinion and express it but when we demand that the Chairman keeps turning down who he believes is the best man for the job until we are all happy on one, then that is too far. Agree with this... something strange has happened over the last few weeks. Suddenly supporters think we are part of some democratic elective, where our input has some relevance other than creating an 'atmosphere' where our team plays. When was this ever the case? Which manager before was ever a supporters choice? A brief middle eastern type dawn, has flashed past and guess what the status quo has re-established itself. Our wholey owned club has selected a manager for itself. For better or worse this is what has always happened we are deluded if we think otherwise. And as in all marriages we will either stand together or just walk away when times get tough. I dont agree with the appointment ( if it ever happens .. yawn ) but I am a Villa supporter I have seen this team playing in the old third division I know what bad times are and I did not leave then and I am not leaving now !
  13. What is really amazing is that these jurno leaping to the defence of 'poor mistreated Stevie Mclaren' are the same ones who originally lambasted him as 'The Wally with the brolly' at the end of the day they have no style no substance and no CLASS ignore them they are mearly prostituting their meager talent for writing to sell a story at any cost.
  14. Dont know about the players general but I'm ready!!!!
  15. Tomorrows weather forecast is 'Heavy rain strong winds' pretty dismal for a final but does this help us or increase the chances of mistakes at the back where we have been so stong ?
  16. See Patrick is now saying City could still win the Prem THIS SEASON ..... he obviously believes he is the missing link !!
  17. Exactly how many chances should he get ??? Before people realise he is just a thug in a football shirt NOT A CHANCE AT VILLA !
  18. Dont dwell on the negatives ... 92% behind MON is an incredible figure and truth is the 'noise' on this forum does not reflect the simple truth that most fans are behind Martin and remain strongly pro everything he is doing It was never always going to be up up up, how we respond to this period will show the mettle of the man. the owner and the team !!
  19. Agree with a lot of whats been said regarding playing style and perhaps using GBs departure as an oppotunity to change ... But I still feel that as long as our best players are leaving us to go to the teams around us ,then we have a fair way still to go to be recognised as serious challengers to the 'big 4' So for me I will be sorry to see him go
  20. Hi General I would like to agree with Heystally! comments above regarding the shirt sponsership. I guess as the credit crunch bites it will become harder to ignore the prospect of sponsership, and our success this season will certainly increase the number of people knocking at your door. But this season I have been very proud to read the many positive comments written about my club because of this gesture. This 'goodwill' toward the club could never be purchased .... And most importantly we are genuinely helping a very worthwhile organisation who are making a real difference to terminally ill children We have taken a very high ground position .... Lets not give it up easily
