    Thought he generally did ok last night, his kicking was decent apart from the one blocked by Defoe and made a couple of great saves in first half. For the second goal he had no protection, the marking was poor. Third goal - yes he should have done better he shouldnt have been beaten there. Overall through throught he was no worse than the others and remember what Guzan was like a few years ago.

    Before the game thought last night might have been the last time we saw him in a Villa shirt before the game but he was excellent in second of half, could see after one good cross his confidence was coming back. Only issue with him really is how and whether he can fit into our formation.

    Can't really fault him last night, he was so isolated. Can only assume he was taken off to wrap him in cotton wool for the weekend. Thought he held the ball up ok and pretty much won every aerial battle. Look forward to seeing him alongside first teamers.

    Way too soon to write him off yet, calling it on the Malaga game was definitely too soon! Not sure what his postion is yet and neither I think is PL which surely can't help him.

    I'm going to suggest you are four players away from the correct team. Gabby won't play and either will Weimann. Sorry make that 5. Forgot about the keeper No Delph, Luna and Guzan then? After Givens performances Last season I'm not sure I trust our back up keepers to come in unless it's necessary due to injury/suspension. I'm sure Steer will be the keeper as he has been interviewed pre-match, he will need a game for that very reason - in case of injury/suspension to Guzan. Would like to see Wiemann playing right up top he could do with a goal or two too but then again so could a few others.

    Looking at the injury list the team looks a bit easier to predict than usual. A couple of young guns on the bench too I would have thought unless a few are 'fit enough' for bench. Luckily games are played on paper otherwise we'd have no chance. Kozak likes a cup game looking at his record last season so lets hope he can continue it.

    Can't see him getting a game in our current system as think he is probably behind Tonev, Bowery and maybe Helenius for a spot in the Wiemann position should it become available. Think he needs a move for the sake of his career.

    Can see a desmond here. Think we'll see plenty of goals at both ends this season.

    Not a fan of loans but if all of his wages are paid and we get a fee along with a further fee next year then it doesn't sound too bad. On the plus side at least if it is a loan he won't be able to haunt us this season.

    May be worth offering a swap with Cisse at Newcastle as sounds like he will be on his way out unless a new shirt sponser is found. Although he may also have an issue with ours thinking about it..

    Sounds like a reporter looking at our signings and putting 2 and 2 together. Can't see that being the case considering the signing of Vlaar and the bid for Dempsey I think it is more likely to be a wage thing and we are simply getting better value for money with younger players.

    This is a must not lose or draw. Benteke not suspended as 5 yellows ban is now out of the window.

    It doesn't matter how poor the game was we did what was needed pretty much everyone gave 100% even Bent when he came on. Do this about 4 more times this season and we should be ok.

    When we signed him I was expecting a much bigger goal return that what he has produced whilst I think we have got what we probably expected in terms of assists. He's hit and miss. He certainly sems to have a bit more confidence at the minute and good to see him running with the ball. Really could do with him, his fellow midfielders and some of the defenders to chip in with some goals to help get us out of this mess.

    Well you need to get the first goal if we want the first 3. But yeah I agree 1-0 won't be enough. The results need to come from somewhere and these are one of the few 'winnable' games we have left.

    Considering Vlaar was on the bench for his return I suspect he may do the same with Dunne

    Going to be saying this a lot here on it, but biggest game of season. First goal is crucial with the brittle confidence going through the team then we can only hope they have learnt from their mistakes.
