There are many permutations which could develop in midfield. We could play a three player midfield of Petrov-ReoCoker-Barry covered by Gardner, Berger and Maloney. with Young and Agbonlahor as Deep lying forwards alongside Carew who float out onto the wing when required with Moore and probably Maloney as back up. Or In a 4-4-2 Petrov could be Demoted to squad player. We could play Reo-Coker and Barry in the Middle with Young moved to the left and a new signing(hopefully SWP or Milner) on the right. With a New Striker to partner Carew, Agbonlahor who may not start every week next season will provide cover and competition for the strikers and the wingers. I think the latter is more likely, but the Signing of Reo-Coker is positive as it keeps our options open and beefs up our midfield.

My gut feeling tells me that we may sign Bobo Balde, it wouldn't be a bad signing in my opinion. He's got a lot of experience which centre halfs lack ridgewell and Cahill are lacking. He is also a good age and shouldn't cost more than 8 million.

A few thoughts on the match I think the lack of depth in our squad is beginning to bit us in the backside. We were missing our first choice goal keeper, and Although they are talented and future prospects both of our central defenders Cahill and Ridgewell lack experience and i think that the opposition were aware of this and took advantage particularily Vassel who is used to playing alongside ridgwell. We're down to two Strikers. Angel and particularily Baros are not setting the world alight this season. Thank goodness January is near.
