The difference is olise has done it in our league, bailey looked great in a different league. I would like olise, it's not my money but buying him even if we could would probably mean that's 2 or 3 we then can't afford. We are more team based now and moments of magic are not all we need.

We are 6th lowest net spend this season in the league but our wages are still pretty high. When looking through the Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian leagues, unless you are a Superstar, wages are massively cheaper than the uk. Same goes for anywhere else in the world. Prices in the UK for some players are mental, neco Williams for instance, 20m ? Southampton spent 35 million on 4 man city under 21s Gibbs-white 25 million plus And these players will be on 40k pw minimum and their wages will only go up Then look at the players signed not as superstars from abroad Mitoma on half the wages of Billy Gilmour !! Most of the lower paid wages at each club are the imports that are not signed as the superstars and the higher wages are the big players or English to English transfers. Unromantic it maybe but we can't afford to be signing more than 2 or 3 players extra on 120k contracts and pay large fees unless we off load digne, bailey and possibly phil as players on that sort of money need to be nailed on starters. Southampton if they go down will be in huge trouble, same as Everton and wolves due to their wages being so stupidly high compared to revenue. A boring balancing act that makes buying premier league players a risky business in the majority of cases, it's only when there is a disgruntled player wanting out, free transfer or signing a player from one of the relegated teams or a team with a more rigid pay structure makes it more realistic. Which is why I don't personally feel we will be signing the likes of Phillips maddison mount and so on unless our revenue increases massively or we move some players on.

We need 2 players for each position, I guess upgrades for the systems we will play will come in to it. We are 7th highest player wages in the league, unfortunately giving digne that wage has set our wage structure all over the place. Can't see watkins not wanting at least the same. Wages reportedly between 75k pw to 100k pw dependant on where you read. That's a fair bit of cash, if he has a bad attitude then he is seeing out that 6 year contract and moves on a free if anyone will take him on that kind of money. 30 million in wages !! And they have signed loads of players recently on big wages on 6 or 7 year contracts. That's going to be very expensive indeed.

If you look at bundias numbers , they also don't look great bearing in mind the position he plays. But we are a team now, as long as each player follows instructions and makes the team stronger then someone's numbers improve in the team.

It wouldn't be difficult, he's on under 20k pw and they have rumoured to have offered him 90k pw. He can play anywhere across the pitch so for me would be an easy upgrade on Bailey and can also do a job where bundia is playing or as a 2nd forward or on the left if we change tactics and use a right attacking fullback. We have however seen the state of players from Germany coming to the Premier league and not producing the same levels of performance. As a free transfer and offering 125k pw he does look great value as even if it doesn't work out, he will be wanted by the big German clubs.

Right, now I have allowed myself dizzy heights of expectation, I'm bringing myself back to reality. While I will allow myself to dream, it's still one game at a time, each game we need to win. Brentford while recently slowing down, have throughout the season been pretty consistent, there 3 forwards have pace and power. It will be down to how we handle them, luckily we have a reasonably mobile back 4/5/6. It will also be down to how forward we can get moreno and to some extent young to force their team back. Hopefully we can cripple that cnut mee and put him out of the game full stop. Maybe if we are lucky enough to be winning by 2 or 3 goals with 1 minute to go, bring on sanislo for watkins to break his knees ?
