  1. Slow turgid play in the first half when we needed to play with pace. Second half poor passing no runners Don't think their keeper had anything not directly at him, that's very poor from us. All well and good fannying around wasting 5 minutes passing it wide back inside wide back and repeat 5 times and doing nothing with it, which happened multiple times if we were winning. We weren't and needed to test their keeper. Literally passed ourselves out of the cup at 2 miles an hour
  2. Diaby off, he's been terrible. Duran on and cross the ball in instead of passing it from out wide, back ,central, out wide, back, central out wide, back, central, lose it. The amount of times the ball should have been played in and wasn't was embarrassing. Overplaying ourselves out of the cup.
  3. No crossing shooting only when zero chance of anything ? Get diaby off and Duran on. At least he will actually shoot.
  4. I always find it helps if we actually cross or shoot if we actually want to score instead of the same playing back in attacking positions. Maybe we will try it at some point tonight ?
  5. Hopefully he has secured enough money to have a good life for his kids and his family. The top earner in brasil was suarez and he was on 75k per week Most are on nothing like that and that's the top players. I still think after a year of his attempt at recovery an insurance payout should have been done for both him and the club. Waste of a player due to a Thug of a player
  6. Stoke have released him. Doesn't look great for his career now.
  7. Missed the 2nd half, by the sounds of it, I was lucky. Due to emerys magic, my expectations have been raised far more than I would of imagined. That's why it's disappointing and unexpected when we put in a poor show. He now needs to magic up some positive results over the next few weeks with the players he has left.
  8. Some very poor play again today. Rogers off and cash on has messed us up. Bailey has not had a look in being put out on the left and diaby is invisible where ever he is meant to be playing. Add in watkins bizarre decision making that half. Olsen hasn't made any mistakes and we seem to be bypassing him more when playing it at the back but our over all passing had been pretty bad. Can only improve after that showing.
  9. This is it, if we can get the win and the bin dippers win, hopefully after blurs fail to win then it will be a perfect weekend.
  10. People react differently, some people get angry/happy/upset quickly, some don't, if someone feels he bottled it then so be it, thats their view of the situation. We lost a match through a combination of their decent attacking play, our poor defensive and midfield play and a sprinkle of terrible officiating. Certain poor performances get highlighted. I'm sure mo Salah on scouse forums isn't getting praise recently so it's not exactly fickle, it's people saying what they see.
  11. His form has been shakey for a good month plus, last night he had a bit of a mare to say the least. Or are fans not allowed to say that because previous to his extended off form, he was good ?
  12. Or perhaps olsen is as bad as his stats sugest ? conceding a goal every 38 minutes throughout his time with us. It doesn't matter who the outfield players are, as he has been in goal for us over 3 seasons where the players have changed, tactics have changed, that's HIS stats.
  13. Unfortunately dougs poor form continues as does a few others. Said it in the Chelsea after match thread, we can't play how we normally do with olsen in goal and again it shows why. Too open, no sweeper keeper cover and passing out from the back is nervy and looks like we are just trying for the first time to play it out. Will also say, the officials again were poor. I've watched the disallowed goal from Bailey about 12 times so far and unless im unlucky in that they just don't show this pull back, I see lenget and one of their players tussling, no protest from their player, ball goes back in , that player flicks it on and Bailey scores. They score, it looks off side, I've seen it a few times and it still looks off side. The lines on the still screen make it look like he's on side but when the ball is played I don't think is the same as the still with lines. A fair few bookings in 90% of games, not in this refs eyes. We had plenty of opportunities to shoot or cross but often made the wrong choice and we suffered because of it. Next game we need the fit first teamers. Players who get some credit tonight Watkins for his goal, diaby for his assist and goal, cash for at least trying to push things forwards quicker. Bailey was decent but checked back onto his left a few too many times which made him predictable in the end. Rogers ran out of steam after 60 mins. Duran and zaniolo made a difference in attack, and Tim was more dominant in the middle. Clearly we can score against these guys, but we need our 1st choice players who are fit to play.
  14. Dougie needs to find his form again, quickly. Not been at his best for a .month or more now, I'm hopeful he's just saving it for the final 6 games.
  15. He concedes a goal every 40 minutes, that's his stats since playing for Villa. That's over 2 goals per game.
  16. Most worryingly is he seems to need a couple games to get back to speed, we only have 3 league games and hopefully 3 Cup games left. If he's out for 2 weeks, that's 4 of these games gone. Hopefully he just got a kick in the bollocks and a bit of deep heat will sort it
  17. First half was a proper nuisance, great goal. 2nd half he like most of our players, couldn't handle our long clearances while under pressure and tailed off quickly. Kids a gem though and has done himself proud so far. Another jewel in our crown. Cheers smoggies
  18. No ones pinning the entire performance on olsen, people quite rightly are pointing out his failings tonight. People are also saying multiple players played badly, olsen being one of them. And being the keeper and being poor, often ( as is the case 95% of the time with olsen) goals are conceded. So while it's not ALL down to him, he is partly responsible.
  19. ? What, that he averages conceding over 2 goals a game for us ? He's played 11 games and conceded 23 That he spreads panic at the back ? That we have twice as many long clearances ? Ok hit me with the plus points
  20. 3000 may be a bit optimistic for temporarily filling in the sides, I blame alcohol and optimism, but I would be hoping with knocking and rebuilding the north stand the corners would generate more than 400 ?
  21. He concedes over 2 goals per game for us. That's not ideal. He is an old fashioned keeper trying to play how we play but hasn't got the skill or confidence to do it. That unfortunately, spreads to the entire team. It limits our play and is counter productive to how we normally play. We need a plan b for when he has to play, as in we change how we play and set up. Olsen in goal means duran and watkins need to play as the amount of long balls doubles, and they are mainly not targeted long balls, they are clearances. So with just watkins, it gives possession straight back. We go from having an extra outfield player at the back, which martinez becomes at times, to not having one and being put under far more pressure which leads to more mistakes.
  22. You think when he has his meetings with the team tomorrow he will be hghi fiving them all saying well done ?
  23. I think frustrated, just like alot of us after the 2nd half performance. All eyes on arsenal tomorrow, hoping they don't bottle it, then it's a point gained rather than 2 lost for today.
