  1. Am I the only one who saw vinicius punch him when they tangled on the floor ? I'm sure it was emi ?
  2. He's on a loan from new York. They tried to offer him for 12 million in the summer but had no takers ( youngest player to score 50 msl goals) so loaned him out to attack and get more money for him with the added exposure of playing in Europe. I read that at 2am this morning
  3. But all 6 of them generate far more income than we do, so they can afford to spend more on players than we can. Irrespective of costs which are considered modest for a premier league to premier league international signing, donker has proved his actual footballing value to the club this season.
  4. Win our next 5 and only Brighton can catch us. 6th is in our hands
  5. One more injury to Fulham please and of course the sending off Watkins is still looking immobile, needs to do a bit more work for me, he can still stay mainly centre but when he can pull wide to make space for Ramsey to drive forwards he needs to. Come on the villa
  6. After breaking my routine on Saturday ( still wore lucky pants but didn't wish injuries or suspension on rival players) So tonight, obviously we need to shut down the 2 flair players of Fulham to get ourselves in a winnable position, young against willian rather than Chambers for me. Ideally their 2 central defenders pull up injured and a sending off for them too please Monero again as left back to give them something to think about. Probs already announced the team so won't go any further. Need Palace to beat wolves if only to go above Chelsea and so they are tempted to keep warlock as manager. Need Leicester to beat Leeds and a couple Leeds players to get sent off.
  7. I've not been to villa Park since I moved out of the midlands 15 years ago so I don't know what our food/ beverage situation is like now. Spurs generate just under 1 million per game in food and drink. They keep the main bars and food open and clubs shop open AFTER the match which keeps people at the stadium for an extra hour or so, spending more money instead of just heading for the exit to beat the queues, they also have decent public transport. Sorting out decent public transport with wm travel and the trains to get people to the stadium and away from the stadium without the need for cars, or even purchasing a large plot of land within a mile of the club for park and ride ( for a charge) would help people stay at the ground longer. Celebrate a win (us not spurs obvs) and people using public transport would be more likely to have another drink or 2 then some food before heading off. Once you've left the grounds the place is a shit hole so you are not going to hang around so getting any kind of extra money has to happen before people leave. Match day income for clubs generates around 12% of their total income so its not to be sniffed at by generating more on matchdays.
  8. It depends. You are forgetting season tickets take up a large amount of the seats. If they are NOT including prepurchased seating ( season tickets) and only including what money is taken on the day, it would be more in line.
  9. 6 million per home game. London, executive boxes, foreign travellers watching games buying merchandise and big crowds
  10. Yep Chelsea and Manchester City were never ever in it until the dodgy money came flooding in
  11. Drew the 2nd half 1 1 6 1 what a thumping
  12. Our goal difference is now only 3, come on Newcastle get another 3 or 4
  13. We lacked pace yesterday, unfortunately that is all that was missing from our team. When we beat them 4-0 we had 2 forwards on the entire game ( watkins/ ings/archer) Bailey was also on from the start. A direct pass and we were in. Yesterday we couldn't do that for various reasons. As moreno was our only pace in the team, keep him out and they can then concentrate on their game. When digne and chambers came on we changed our system and both were able to push forwards rather than the predictable left side only.
  14. Emery hasn't just made him better, he's made him taller. Emery the miracle maker
  15. Just bringing the excitement back to the club and the optimism and giving us a footballing identity again. We were allowed to dream of top 4 ( for a week) with just 7 games remaining and now that dream is over. Each summer we are optimistic but that has normally disappeared by Christmas, this time round it just feels like we have all the correct tools in place for once rather than just one massive tool thinking they are the be all and end all. So while our very brief dream of top 4 is over, we are still in the mix for top 7, so that dream is still real. If we don't finish in the top 7 then obviously there will be disappointment, but being disappointed is not the same as say Chelsea, who are devastated and spurs if we finish above them, and arse if they blow the title.
  16. Digne is only one people want to sell, due to him being the highest earner at the club and not being 1st choice. Same with Bailey, he is in the top 5 paid players at the club and has been off form or injured for 75% of the time he has been at the club. If we had bigger income and were not as restricted financially, which effects future signings, I doubt people would be bothered and more than happy at them being squad players. As mentioned in the Brentford thread, digne coming on was the reason we scraped a point and should have got a freekick which would then mean the player would have had to have been given a 2nd yellow and the ref didn't want to send him off. Ignore it and var can't intervene for a yellow.
  17. We were slow, lacked energy, and watkins was terrible, I mean truelly bad, no movement refused to move down the sides and just stood there time after time a ball went down the line. Apart from 4 minutes at the end of the game, I don't think we won 1 2nd ball, pulled out of most tackles, and there was no movement. We were very lucky to come away with a point which feels like a point won rather than 2 lost, that's how poor we were today. Emery will have to watch that back a good few times and have words with quite a few players. Digne change is what got us the point, also should have seen mbouma with his 2nd yellow but the ref chose to ignore the kick to his face. Feel that's any dreams of 4th gone now, and we hardly out up a fight the whole game.
  18. That was poor from us, poor 1st touches, poor hold up play and them pressing us into mistakes. I know watkins states he has been told to stay in the middle and conserve his runs but not to the extent he is static, which he has been. The balls to mcginn have failed and moreno isn't managing bar 1 or 2 times, to get down their right. Ramsey had 2 decent moves where he made poor choices and they had possession again We need to wake up for the second half as we don't seem to have got out of 1st gear
  19. Christ Leeds were absolutely rubbish, negative defensive hoof balls for most of the game. Needed a draw really but there was little to no chance due to their appalling play. Summed up by the keeper gifting 2 goals and roca hitting 3 corners 1 after the other straight to the first defender who just knocked it out for another corner.
  20. 1953 apparently the last time we won at Brentford? According to the BBC, if true we need to change that today !!
