  1. because he / his family are sha fans?
  2. and I came across this tweet today. Football media & punditry has been a closed ole boys' shop for years with only "old ex pros" who end up getting those cozy high paying with little working gigs. But they almost never give any quality in depth tactic looks, or other really nuanced arguments.
  3. There are just so many different integrations of VAR & technology that makes everything so confusing
  4. English media really ridiculed Unai in his Arsenal stint. If we were to compare records, his managerial career compares quite favorably to Poch's. Poch really only won a couple trophies in his one year at PSG and hasn't won anything else.
  5. if you want the laughs, American Airlines partners (or partnered) with Watford a year or two ago. It's crazy that teams can do this (and that other teams haven't been able to get some.
  6. apparently barca are "readying" an offer of Franck Kessie & cash for Dougie
  7. I would think we could buy out/take over the loan contract if we wanted to.
  8. also have to think that he wouldn't have come here last year with Villarreal still in the CL as he turned down Newcastle for similar reasons
  9. I listen to Sam's Army -- it is a very American type of podcast as all of the guys who rotate are American. But they are genuine football fans who have a platform to share with. 2 Robbies (I'm biased with the US Coverage) are pretty good -- they do spend a lot more time with the big 6 but I find them refreshing compared to most pundits over in the UK The Athletic football podcast is always a decent listen. Echo the football social daily shout as well. the EFL podcast that I have listened to in the past & is very good imo is Not the Top 20 with Ali Maxwell & George Elek.
  10. i genuinely prefer listening to non-ex footballers who talk about the sport because they generally have a better idea of how the game works tactically. It feels like a lot of the ex-players in media are just coasting with a cushy job and not a lot of work to do. he is a youtuber/tik tok "star" who makes his money on views of just yelling at stuff in the videos & mispronouncing names/countries in Fifa games.
  11. I wonder if we will see a 4-4-2 with Ollie and Ings up top in the future.
  12. As someone who works with the young generation in a school, I'm familiar with him. That he was able to get this sort of airtime shows how the world (and media in general) has continued to shift towards those who are the loudest
  13. i think that ship sailed this summer. But I am shocked at how few teams were after him. He's one of the best midfielders in the PL currently imo.
  14. One that I'm looking at during the WC is Facundo Torres.
  15. he had a good game today. credit where it's due.
  16. like to see a couple more subs. surprised that VAR didn't advise a check
  17. I recall Harry Kane getting a penalty for doing that exact same thing at VP in the last few years.
  18. with the pen, I guess VAR said that it was a motion to get the ball, otherwise that's DOGSO and a red
  19. I think McGinn's looked good going forward but gets exposed by Estupiñán going back. Having a player who naturally plays wide will make a big difference in how we play imo
