  1. Semedo with a few dumb mistakes leading to a straight red card
  2. sensible decision. No need for Unai to rush into making a decision on this after only being around the squad for two days. Maybe there will be a change with the WC break coming up, but it would just be another major distraction if he had changed it at this minute.

  4. I really think Konsa is far more in trouble with this than Mings if honest.
  5. yeah it's more of the PL is already the Super League with all of the revenue coming for every club and add that the top 6 make double even triple that of the other 14. But the other 14 can already compete / better the offers made by European-chasing teams in other leagues. I really do think that within 10 years we will have a massive reshuffling of the footballing landscape as finances continue to grow (and rapidly fall for some)
  6. I actually had a concussion incident happen with the team I coach. One of our CBs got a very nasty knock to the head and went down. Trainers had to come over and was immediately subbed off (there are unlimited subs in the youth level I coach at). Trainer looked over said player and cleared to go back in. Nothing else happened during the game, but then 5 minutes after the game concluded, this player passed out and parents took to the hospital for evaluation. Diagnosed with a concussion and only now getting fully back. I also have a friend who played American football and ended up medically retiring due to multiple concussions. Head injuries are extremely serious, and it really makes my blood boil when people don't take them seriously. They can be life-altering injuries & I still am disappointed with our medical staff. You just can't take any chances today with head injuries.
  7. I mean whilst I completely agree with this, some of those prospects are immediately coming into the first team squad and those youth signings we've made are more "for the future". Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that we are doing a ton of youth signings like Wilson. I don't rate him that highly, but I think he'd be our best #8 if we signed him. Though I do agree that he's more suited to a non-PL style of play. He's brought him at two different clubs as well, which is intriguing
  8. I definitely want us to be signing some more South American prospects. If Brighton is after him, that must say something
  9. I've said it before and will echo this -- Lo Celso makes sense for us. And especially as Emery has worked with / signed him at two of his previous clubs so he definitely must have some sort of positive relationship with him
  10. he fits that criteria if were being honest. a decent international side's #1 is a pretty good option to have as a backup.
  11. and he came on as a sub. Imagine that he was extremely out of form.
  12. yeah, I think it's still way too early to be worrying about relegation, now that Gerrard is gone. we thumped a team 4-0 who are a few points above us and are clearly a decent side. I'm not going to extremely change my views over an away defeat at a very good (maybe even a top 4) Newcastle
  13. not disagreeing with the fact that he needs to improve, but just look at Almirón across the pitch. It took him a few years to shine and now he's played like one of the best players in the league this year. Give him time and we've seen there is a very good footballer in him.
  14. we would've gone down had Gerrard stayed the whole season. Also, we can't compare losing at Newcastle (who are currently 4th & have only lost once this year) with how the rest of our season will go. We comfortably beat a Brentford side who are above us in the table. Don't see Forest overtaking us, Wolves can't score and have an interm manager until 2023, Leeds might be sacking Marsch soon but their squad still isn't that good.
  15. we didn't play well, but they are so well coached and mentally together that it was always going to be an uphill task. Especially with a caretaker in charge.
  16. there really isn't a set time because each one is unique. Some might be a week, some might be a few weeks, some can be career enders (usually most of those are a culmination of head injuries /concussions in a career)
  17. i would assume that it was a concussion sub as there was no other clear injury?

  19. Not his fault, but there's zero way our medical team should've let him continue on. Clearly had signs of concussion and you can't let athletes make their own decisions when it comes right after a blow to the head. Don't think we'll see him in our next game tbh
  20. I don't think I've ever heard a more biased commentary / media team before. staggering
  21. also, I'm very disappointed we let Martinez continue on when it was clear he was going to need to come off. Concussions / head injuries are not to scoff at
  22. that was one of our better 1st halves this year. Shame about the pen, was clearly one.
