  1. MLS teams are starting to be able to buy some of the "better" first team players from top South American league teams which I think might be more the route we'd be looking towards. Durán being one for example
  2. 17 out of 20 PL sides would also love to go all out for a world class striker i'd suspect. there's just a dearth of them around currently
  3. It's a tough one, & as @Tomaszksays this spot is between Buendia/Coutinho/McGinn (none of them feel like natural wide players which is a whole different problem). I know you'll probably disagree, but I'd probably go with Buendia at the minute -- though I'd be rotating all 3 of them pretty consistently. But I think it's clear that this is the first position that needs to be upgraded in January. Edit: I'd also be tempted to look into playing either Watkins or Bailey out here as well but then that requires additions to play in the front 2.
  4. Nunez cost triple what Ollie was and he isn't really scoring all that much either
  5. I must've watched a different game to a lot of y'all. Didn't think he was that bad, thought he was adequate enough as a backup
  6. we played well -- Liverpool are a better team than us and there's no shame in that. We probably should've made some changes around the 65/70th minute. It's also clear that we can't persist with McGinn out wide, we need an actual wide player there in January (I think most of us agree with this as well). Probably will need a striker & new CB in the summer
  7. I have no clue how anyone can say Olsen was at fault for any of the goals tbh
  8. outside of those, he's been pretty anonymous but not been "bad"
  9. Dougie hasn't been good, Ollie has been able to beat the defenders but finishing is not up to standard. McGinn's been fairly anonymous. Buendia has been all over the pitch (not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing). Olsen hasn't been bad eithert
  10. forgot that we have bald Tierney as ref
  11. Gregg Evans had an athletic article out earlier (I know I know Gregg isn't the best source). He suggested Pulisic as a realistic target though which caught my attention
  12. not that this will really affect us but
  13. I doubt we will see any major sales in Jan because we don't really have that type of player to sell. I think this summer is when we can expect major change. Clear we need another winger in Jan no matter what
  14. i agree with both of you on this, but I would figure that the club won't think this is close to their valuation of him, especially after signing a new deal recently. they have to be looking for a new one (obviously with the Neuer injury) but it feels like he wouldn't fit their style + the asking price would be pretty huge when there are cheaper alternatives
  15. fair enough. I thought he was outstanding, getting all of the major calls correct and not giving "soft" fouls
  16. he got sent off in a youth game I believe is the story & went to talk to the ref who had & was told if he should try it himself. Clearly a good advert for ex-players to get involved in actually reffing and not just complaining about the calls.
  17. Those 2 would be good opportunities I think. Also iirc MacAllister resigned with Brighton right before the WC.
  18. best knockout GK in the world right now
  19. I think it would be a smart option, but I just don't see it as a realistic one.
  20. Pulisic would also instantly grow our fanbase here stateside as well
  21. Seems like a lot has been going off down under with the A-League recently. Think they moved the finals to Sydney for the next 3 or 4 years instead of the higher placed team. then today, this happened
