  1. Genuinely curious, do we even think Potter would consider going there? Still clearly have financial restrictions and that squad looked completely terrible?
  2. Ipswich looking really good so far. They had outstanding underlying statistics last year as well.
  3. I really think he could be our long-term backup and future #1.
  4. https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1692541296521466053?s=46&t=4gMpDyT77ibKRwL7YVooeg
  5. with Caicedo going for around 110m and Ferguson signing a new deal, I'd assume they would ask for more than 125m. And that transfer wouldn't really make sense for all three parties if we're being honest
  6. did I watch a completely different game than everyone else? I thought he was alright, nothing special, but him coming off made us a lot weaker. I'd say there were 4/5 players who I thought had a much worse game than Bailey did
  7. was at fault for 2 or 3 of the goals today
  8. I imagine that he might be closer to leaving now as we will need to get another CB and we have to keep FFP in mind
  9. the second goal is not offsides, but probably gets given as a foul most times
  10. i like getting it out of the way right at the start tbh. I'd much rather have the return match at VP later in the season for the run in -- instead of having to go up there
  11. apparently, he was the only Villa player to play in every single game last season?
  12. and he's pretty good with defensive duties, which is important against a side like newcastle
  13. thoughts that Ipswich might get back-to-back promotions?
  14. he's been the most recognizable name in American sports over the last decade.
  15. CL qualification. That allows for an expedited growth plan in financials & quality of player that we can bring in. Plus winning a cup doesn't mean that we aren't relegated (not that I think we will be, but)
  16. that is until FFP kicks in. I (and everyone else) don't want to be selling our best & brightest academy prospects & players every year, but we have to compare us with the likes of Man City/Liverpool/Chelsea. Each year they have a couple academy prospects/players whom they sell and that significantly increases their FFP headroom with potential signings. This is the landscape of football that we are in. Why is our academy strategy to sign a whole load of promising teenagers when it's more than likely that they will not amount to a PL level player? Return on investment. and as @turvontoursaid, we haven't really been a selling club for a while. In the last decade, we've sold 4 players for over 15m Benteke, Chuk, Grealish, Targett). that's absolutely dreadful compared to others. Chelsea have sold 7 players this window for more than 15m, Brighton, Man City & Liverpool have all sold 4 players over 15m in the last year. We have started to change a bit (with Ings, Chuk & Targett) but it is something we have to get used to. All that being said, I think 10m for A Ramsey is ridiculous. I would expect closer to 25m ish for him considering the market. I'd much rather keep him around & loan him in Jan if he is desperate for playing time...
