  1. I mean if Luton is being realistic (and it seems like they are), they are not yet at the level of being able to be a sustainable Premier League club. Their record transfer fee is roughly 1.2m pounds and from what I have seen online, Marv was on almost 4x the salary of the next player -- I think Horvath the gk they loaned from Forest was on around 10k -- but none of the players contracted to Luton themselves are close to that mark (or were, I think a couple just signed extensions)
  2. I keep going back and forth on this. I don't really play FM for the graphics at all, but that being said the current graphics are worse than they were 10 years ago. The year they switched the newgen face graphics I think really set back the whole series' graphics. I do think they are announcing these 2 years ahead of the planned release to get the idea across that many will need to get a new computer to run the new graphics (sorry @tomav84 ) I think that can be a blessing and a curse. They accomplish what they set out to do in the game, but for the avid gamer, they generally don't have enough updates/new features from year to year -- which is bad because I'm sure all of us can think of things that might be basic but would instantly improve the overall experience (e.g. revamping international management). I have also switched to the NewGAN face generator instead of the usual generated newgen faces because, for me, it adds that element of more realism. But I always ask for a much lower salary in negotiations as well as there is zero impact. and as @Milfnersays, I've also started to do some type of a DOF mode / simulation.
  3. he wants to leave for first team football, they aren't wanting really to sell him from what I understand
  4. From what I understand, release clauses (if met) are supposed to be paid in full within a year.
  5. so they could structure the payments in a more favorable way
  6. I know this is not even going to be the next installment in the series, but the announcement earlier today basically said that after '24, they will be revamping the whole series starting with Football Manager 2025. The Future of Football Manager | Football Manager 2023
  7. SI have already released 'information' about FM 2024 (and 2025 but that will be it's own thread). The Future of Football Manager | Football Manager 2023
  8. Edit: made 2024 & 2025 threads relevant to the statement Sports Interactive posted earlier
  9. re: competition with the amount of CBs we have. We have not experienced either Mings or Konsa with a significant injury that caused them to miss a lot of time (Konsa's injury was at the end of the year and kept him out of one or two games iirc). We have to look at what our record, since being promoted, is without having Mings in the back. I believe we have lost every single game without him. We have zero idea how Carlos' injury has impacted his long term game and I don't think any of us want to rely on Chambers being first choice for the whole year. this is exactly why we went in for Bednarek after Carlos' injury last summer. Especially with all the additional games we are hoping for this new season
  10. Tielemans was out of contract ... so we would not be talking about to Leicester about buying him, rather directly to him & agent.
  11. we have no clue how much Diego has recovered from that injury. after that, it's just we need the competition and depth for all the games upcoming. We also have been extremely fortunate that we have not had either Mings or Konsa have a serious injury in the time we've been in the PL since being promoted. With all due respect, I don't think any of us think that Chambers would be good enough as a first choice cb & we might shift him on.
  12. Jorginho is really the only one I can think of in recent times
  13. I think now, there's only two reporters/journalists that have extreme credibility when it comes to transfers (specifically Villa); John Percy & David Ornstein. I know under the Purslow regime, we did not leak from our end almost ever, and that is why most of the transfers we got done had links that started with the club we were buying from.
