  1. as someone who has no affinity for cats aside from that **** idiot that decides he's my cat every now and again (we have a real love hate relationship) 21 years is way **** better than you would have ever expected when you got Oxo, I remember when we had our staffie put down at the age of 16, she was my dog and I felt guilty when I moved out of my mom n dads because she fell into a depression without me, she wasn't my dog, I was her human, she **** idolised me, even now, about 10 years later I still **** miss her, I think about her more than I should, whenever I dream I can guarantee that she'll pop up somewhere. when my mom n dad took her to be put down I was fuming because they didn't tell me, looking back on it I can 100% understand, a few hours after they told me I absolutely broke down, I remember sitting on the edge of my bed and crying for about 3 hour. she was 16, had diabetes, was blind and deaf, it was the kindest and most difficult thing we've ever had to do as a family. its **** shit, I'm not gunna say it gets easier because I still miss that dog to this **** day, but this is what we sign up for when we get pets.
  2. I swear to god, this **** dickhead of a cat is taking the piss out of me, about 5 minutes after I posted that he came back, I decided to let him in (I've had a few beers so I'm not feeling as cruel as usual) he had his food then the tail went straight up, he was gunning for everywhere but I think that's cuz he hasn't been allowed in for so long, dropped some catnip on the floor and he rolled around like a dribbling mess for 15 minutes and I kicked him out, I'll let him back in and catnip another part of the room next time, get him smell intergrated into the place without the need for piss, you could tell he wasn't overly happy when he first came in but its probably been 4 or 5 weeks since I last let him come in.
  3. I think that me and Theodore have officially broken up, every time he was coming in the first thing he wanted to do was piss up the wall, I can't be having that so he's banned from coming inside, I've still been feeding him outside but the other night at 12 oclock he dive bombed me when I opened the window and was wraslin with me trying to get in, I can't have the little **** pissing on my walls so he's banned (again) I think he's sick of just being fed though because I haven't seen him in nearly a week now. He's either dead or being fed elsewhere, if he comes back then he's got one more chance, he tries to piss up the wall again and I'll beat him to death with the vacuum and have done with him.
  4. dunno what you mean, just a goat with some goats innit
  5. I have always preferred drinking on my own, I used to drink to find oblivion, these days I have a few beers on a Friday night but I'll always have one night (like tonight) when I think **** it, lets drink like I'm 20 years old (not 38) its always tinged with sadness, but **** it,I reckon I've got shit under control.
  6. I'm having a good **** drink tonight, I'll probably be bad for work tomorrow but **** it, I ain't had a good solo session for absolutely ages so I'm overdue, had to endure a team meal with work today, the company was terrible and the food was average, the few beers I had have given me the taste for it now so I'm going for it. Anyways, this ain't about me, I found out the other day that a lad I used to play football with years ago killed himself, that's the 5th person (if you include the one that pretty much killed himself via the drink) that I know that has done it, none of them particularly close at the time but I knew them all pretty well over the years, and the thing is, most of them were the most outgoing likeable sociable **** that you could imagine, then you look at me, I fly solo, I live alone, I avoid social interaction and I'm happy as ****, it makes me wonder what goes wrong for them, it really hits hard man, it isn't like I'm sitting here saying "could I have been a better friend" because I haven't know him for **** ages but man, I don't know if I just had a dysfunctional set of pals growing up but that just seems like too many people to have known to go that way.
  7. Seeing as I listen to quite a bit of "bitch rock" as my mates call it, I quite like that one
  8. Only song I know called My Medicine is by The Pretty Reckless, is that the one?
  9. Yesterday I told my boss that I'm going to take a few weeks of mostly staying out of the office, as I said, I've been going it a hell of a lot over the last few months, not doing full days in there but still majority of the time I have been going in, I'm feeling a bit burnt out by it now though, I told the boss that I just can't be arsed going in and that the new starter is at the point where what he does need to know I can show him over Teams, he doesn't need someone sitting next to him showing him click by click what he has to do. Bosses response was "ok...but why are you telling me" They are honestly so relaxed about office time its great, as long as you don't take the piss they just leave you to do what you want and as long as you show your face in the office every often enough there isn't any drama if you then stay away for a week or two. I'll have a few weeks of just going in once a week and then I'll get back to doing 3 or 4 days.
  10. **** sake, I **** hate it when I pop into a thread that is usually pretty quiet just to see what is popping and then realise that in the few days I haven't checked it shit has gone bat shit cray cray and now I'm going to have to go back 10 pages to catch up on the shenanigans
  11. That's really bad and really dangerous. He hasn't been found guilty of anything so it is entirely wrong to try and stop any means of income for him. Public opinion is bad enough for him that you would expect that his views will take a massive hit and stifle his income somewhat but that is entirely down to the public and what they want to do.
  12. I have made a few posts that I had to follow up with "I'm not defending Brand but...." and none of it has been a "defence for him" or an "excuse for his actions" At the end of the day there are an awful lot of people on Twatter, Reddit and wherever else who are putting across an alternate opinion as to why they may believe he isn't guilty. As grim as the topic is, I enjoy these kind of conversations where people are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum, I think that the problem here is that if anyone does say anything for the sake of furthering the conversation or to try and hear someones points of view on something then they get jumped on or mocked, that's why I have to try and stress that what I am saying is coming from a point of view that isn't my own.. I raised a question a few pages ago about the few positive things that have been said about Brand and how much (if at all) it would have changed the public opinion on him if they were included in the Dispatches program (after all this is trial by media at the moment) the responses I got were "I'm sure the person he raped is glad that he was nice to one or two women" and comments about Jimmy Saville taking kids skydiving etc, pretty much no one wanting to engage in the conversation, which I think was an interesting one. It felt like the first few replies to that question were just glib comments to rubbish it and put it to bed without actually addressing what was raised. I've no doubt that this will probably get pounced on by someone as well but there we go, that's my reasoning for clarifying that I am not supporting Brand anyways
  13. For everyone asking who they would drop for JJ, the one thing that I was pleased to see that McGinn was subbed off on the weekend, Smith and Gerrard refused to sub him unless they absolutely had to, now we can take him off (or leave him on the bench from the start) and replace him with Tielemans or JJ, now I'm not saying this in any way to have a pop at McGinn, he wasn't good last weekend but he has been magnificent outside of that, just using it as an example of how strong the squad is now. My old man keeps saying how much he wants Tielemans to start for us but is stumped when I ask who we drop to make way for him, same goes for JJ. Everyone will get their chance at some point and it'll be exciting times when these players do get their opportunity.
  14. Anyone fancy actually having a pop at the question that was in my post? If a few of them "positive" testimonies from people were included would it have changed the publics perception of him following the Dispatches program? would the mentality be more "innocent until proven guilty" or would he still be automatically assumed guilty based on the accusations that were in there?
  15. A few "positive" things that I've read about Brand over the last few days Georgina Baillie has said that while she doesn't disbelieve the women, she can't see Russell Brand as a rapist, she also pointed out that after the "sachsgate" Brand paid for her rehab and pretty much saved her life Rhian Sugden said that when she was with Brand he was always pleasant and treated her very well, she also says that Dispatches and reporters were knocking on her parents door trying to get her to speak out on him Kristen Bell said that despite threatening to "sock him in the bollocks" if he tried anything, she loved working with him and may be the only woman in the world who would scream it from the rooftops (even though this was after filming Sarah Marshall so she was possibly saying it during the publicity for the film) One of his exes has said that Dispatches kept on badgering her asking for an interview via phone (to protect the girls being spoken to or to ensure that there is no evidence of what was discussed) she told them that she had nothing bad at all to say about him and they basically said that wasn't what they were looking for and didn't want to speak with her again Dispatches and the times has said that they spoke with hundreds of people during their investigation, I wonder how many of these people actually said that despite being a bit of a prick who slept around he didn't do anything wrong to them? I wonder how the publics opinion would have been affected if there were a few positive or even neutral stories about him in there. They felt that someone saying he walked about in his pants was worthy of mention but not a single positive account from someone that was actually in a relationship with him. Again (I feel like I need to stress this every time I post something in here) I am not on Brands side, I am not doubting the women that have come forward.
  16. I love listening to Alex Jones sometimes, not the hurtful stuff like the Sandy Hook comments, but when he goes off on passionate rants about chemicals in water turning frogs gay, I find it hilarious, the man is comedy gold at times.
  17. I couldn't tell you, I just watch them and think "hmmm he's got a point" and then I move on, I can agree with someone on some things without having a strong feeling one way or another on them, same as I can disagree with someone and not have a strong feeling one way or the other. I do know that an awful lot of people say that his books have helped them in a big way, I've never read them and I'm not sure on what they are about but, meh, I don't mind him, he's just someone that pops up every now and again.
  18. I've watched and agreed with a fair few of his videos, I'm not a massive fan but he's someone that I'll take a look at every now and again if one of his videos pops up on youtube. I'm not a climate denier, homophobic, anti-vax, anti-trans, anti-woke et al
  19. No surprise at all I wonder if this will encourage more women to come forward and name other celebrities because I am sure that there is more than a few
  20. I've seen this as well, they are saying that there are dates missing off the messages (I might be wrong but if you reply to a message shortly after it was sent then the date doesn't appear as it will be the same as the previous message) They are also saying that the font is bolder on the second half of a message and that it is misaligned. Could be some shithousery going on or it could have just been the way the messages were stitched together for the purpose of the program. Put it this way, if it is shithousery and they have been doctored or faked then they'll be opening themselves up to a lawsuit that will cost them millions, would they be stupid enough to put a 4 year investigation in jeopardy for the sake on one text message?
  21. I think this is where you are going wrong @Demitri_C the argument is that this won't be going to to a court hearing as it stands at the moment, I believe that more people will come forward and he will end up being charged with "something" at least, but what people are saying is that this investigation, regardless of a court case or not has showed him to be a word removed of the highest order. People are thinking that you are saying that he should just be able to carry on with his day to day life as if nothing has happened until he is charged and that people shouldn't think any less of him until/if he is convicted, I know that isn't what you are getting at but I think the whole "he needs an actual conviction" is where people think that you are not believing the women that have come forward so far. That's what I'm getting anyways. I'm dipping out of this thread for a bit now, its going round in circles.
  22. This whole thread is painful, Some people think he is guilty and understand that a conviction is unlikely with the evidence available therefore are willing to have him tried by public opinion which will lead to him being blacklisted and effectively cancelled Other people think that he is most likely guilty but would like more substantial proof and would prefer to see him actually convicted for what he's done. It is never an easy situation when dealing with rape or sexual assault allegations, I don't think that any body is outright defending him here.
  23. He's saying that it isn't valid because people are saying that these women are fame hungry, attention grabbing, after their 5 minutes of fame etc, but that argument is blown out of the water when they have chosen to remain anonymous. I don't think he is arguing about the difficulty to prove it, just the arguments that people are raising.
