I was playing Grand Theft Auto the other night and they have some great radio programmes for when you’re driving around. One was hilariously accurate, it was some right wing nutter who’d called in to say how pleased he was that foreigners no longer wanted to live in America. All it took was for them to destroy the country to make it so unappealing but it was worth it to stop them coming.

I’m wondering if they didn’t formally state your probation was being extended then it is assumed to be passed... someone else will know better than me. If you’re a fully fledged employee then things change with regards to redundancy, they have to offer any other available jobs, training, period of consultation etc.

That’s more of a family special occasion kind of venue.

Have some bullet points written down on paper on the desk so if your mind goes blank you can get back on track somewhere. Also, in PowerPoint you can add notes that only you can see to keep flowing nicely. Finally, keep going, if you ask a question to the group it’ll probably go silent so only pause briefly then keep going and avoid an awkward silence.

Extending the probation period due to Covid seems a bit off, how long was it initially and how much was left? I’d be tempted to look into if they acted fairly. Did they give you a reason for not passing the probation? Was it performance related?

Yep. Something doesn’t add up, I certainly don’t think it’ll be like when Chelsea or Man City got new owners. 1) FFP and 2) If the Arabs wanted to get rid of several hundred million pounds and not bothered about a return they wouldn’t be partnering up with investment companies.

I agree, they did it a while back, bouncing between the divisions without spending a fortune.

One of the comments on the twitter post was along the lines of “**** em I’m not wearing one”, then someone replied, then the first person said she had it in March so didn’t care. Sums your point perfectly. People are selfish, which is something that has been heavily underlined this past year.

I only have fish from the chip shop when I’m near the seaside. Takes so much nicer.

Certainly feels like wave 2 could be just over the horizon. A kick up was always inevitable with easing of restrictions, hopefully they plateau out.

I put this in the virus thread but it probably belongs here Postcode checker for the eat out scheme now live. Link I noticed none of the McDonald’s/KFC/Burger King/Pizza outlets by me have signed up. A couple of the nicer restaurants have so will probably use it at least once.
